"Great. They were able to disconnect our gas appliances at two separate homes and then come back the following day to reconnect them after a move and they were nice enough to charge it as one continuous service call rather than two like most other plumbers I called charge.  They were friendly and knowledgable."

"Been having problems with garbage disposal and the pipes underneath sink loosened up. Decided that didn't want the disposal anymore. Gave Chris a call and got appointment scheduled. They were prompt and got the work done neatly. Removed the disposal and fixed and replacednecessary piping. Also decided to have them remove two soap dispensers that were not functioning and since then I bought two faucet hole plugs and put those in. Everything is working great. They are really good plumbers."

"He did a great job and worked very hard! He saved our roof rafters in our attic and created a new opening in the hallway ceiling. He carefully caulked all of our exterior windows and doors, washed & painted the exterior, installed a new gutter and drain pipe, just to name a few items... Very flexible in working with me on decisions as to what repairs were needed inside and outside of the house. Very relational and friendly. Really cares about his work!"

"Vlad and Dmitriy designed my kitchen, they came to my home to see what could be done. They moved my stove over put in another cabinet (spice cabinet) between the pantry cabinet and stove. Took the dishwasher which was next to the stove and moved it to next to the refrigerator to add more cupboards and drawers Removed and built a new cabinet under the bar counter.Has 2 lazy susan's which are great. All pull out drawers. Had a corner unit in a triangle that was useless. Vlad removed that and made a straight cabinet which is more accessable . Put in a new sink and granite counter tops. Absolutely beautiful. Vlad picked the counter tops for my kitchen and bathroom helped me pick the color of the cabinets and doors. He installed under the counter lights which are the best, and I bought an over the range microwave which they installed. Vlad had to add a piece on the vent when they move the stove and used a piece of shelf from the cabinet to cover the vent. This is perfect. They removed vanity in bathroom and put new cabinet in to match the kitchen and granite top, Vanity has more drawers and sits to the floor. Vlad, Dmitriy and Yuriy did a super job, there was no down time, all 3 worked hard to get the job done. My place was spotless. Plastic on my stairs canvas cover on the carpets. Kept their eye on my cat when they had to go in and out. Nicest company to work with. Would have them back in a heartbeat, and sure recommend them to all my friends. Price was reasonable they gave me the estimate and. I had 4 estimates from other companies they were the most reasonable, no hidden costs. Saved me money, where needed. Dmitry did all the plumbing and saved me money on not having to bring in a plumber and electrician, all the other companies I spoke to I had to find my own plumber and electrician. Karen"

"We asked Vincent to replace our dirty old laundry tub and faucet.  While doing that, he noticed that the drain pipe underneath was filthy, so he cleaned that out and replaced the u-shaped drain.  He then replaced a faucet in another sink.  His work was completed very much to our satisfaction in a timely manner, his rate was competitive, and he cleaned up his mess after completing the work.  Vincent also disposed of the old tub and faucets so that we did not have to do so.   We would not hesitate to call on him again, and we would also recommend him to others.
There was some miscommunication and delay in response with his scheduler when setting up the appointment, but she was very apologetic and accommodating.

"This is a terrific company.... I discovered them on Angie's List and will never use another plumbing company. I left a message via email and received a return call within hours. The estimate was accurate and price more than fair for a job that required a lot of awkward places to get into to find the real root of the problem. I've had them for repairs twice - once a section of plumbing had been incorrectly installed, and another section was leaking due to age. The repair job was quick, took my own crowded schedule into account, and all questions I asked were patiently answered with suggestions for any "next steps". I will definitely use this company again - thanks for the great work!"

Install Garbage Disposal questions, answered by experts

On average, it takes one to four hours for a professional to install a garbage disposal. This includes removing the old unit, taking necessary measurements for positioning, removing and fitting new pipes, and installing the brand-new disposal system. If there are unforeseen issues, such as accessibility concerns, the process takes longer.

Most garbage disposals have a reset button that can be triggered with a tool as simple and accessible as your index finger. That said, if you need to perform a more in-depth troubleshooting step, like manually moving the arms inside the unit or rotating the impeller plate, a hex wrench is the most common tool you’ll need. Most garbage disposals come with a hex wrench.

No, you do not need a garbage disposal to have a dishwasher. A dishwasher will work without one, and while it's rare to see a home with a dishwasher that doesn't have a disposal, it is possible. The two appliances pair well and are often installed together because a disposal simplifies meal cleanup.

However, your dishwasher should not be used as a replacement for a garbage disposal. Subjecting it to continuous food leftovers can lead to major clogs. If you choose not to install a garbage disposal, you should thoroughly rinse your plates or scrape excess food into the trash or a compost pile before loading them into the dishwasher to prevent plumbing issues.

Garbage disposals can be considered bad for the environment due to their electricity usage, but good for the environment because they reduce the food waste sent to landfills. If everyone used a garbage disposal, it would tax the wastewater treatment facilities in that region, but if we had to choose one of the options, we’d say they are a net positive on the environment when used correctly.

On average, a garbage disposal can last anywhere from 7 to 12 years, with many models functioning well for about 10 years. With heavy usage, a motor may last a minimum of five years, while grinding plates will wear down over time. It's generally a good idea to consider a replacement if your unit is approaching the 10-year mark. Other signs that it's time for a new disposal include frequent leaks, persistent clogs, lingering odors, lack of power, or unusual noises. If your unit is not that old, it's worth investigating if a less expensive part, like a rubber seal or a loose hose, is causing the issue.
