"Marshall Handyman Services performed all of this work, and everything was very easy for us. Each time we called, Dave Marshall came out promptly to look over what was needed. Within a few days he gave us a complete estimate of the work to be done and the charge. I thought his prices were appropriate; generally no more or no less than I might expect. He also let us know the time frame in which we could expect the work to be completed. He was flexible and responsive to our requests. He did what we asked when it made sense, but also let us know when he thought there was a better approach.
Marshall completed the work and in all cases were were happy with the quality and appearance. Also, in the case of these three visits, the amount billed was never more than the estimate, and a couple of times somewhat less.
The $100 price cited was for the chimney cap and included the cap and installation.

"Eric was very efficient and knew exactly what we needed, but also listened to our specific needs when installing our sump pump. He did a very professional job and cleaned his "mess" from work as if nothing had been done in our basement. I'd recommend him to anyone."

Foundation Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

Gravity can make it difficult to make plumbing work in a garage if your plumbing is lower than your drainage point. Fortunately, there are ways to create drainage when adding a bathroom to a sunken garage. Plumbers will recommend using an upflush system that discharges into a pump from the back of the toilet.

The least expensive basement waterproofing methods include grading soil away from your home, installing downspout extenders on your gutter system, and applying a waterproof paint on the interior of the foundation walls. Installing a French drain is a relatively inexpensive method if you do the work yourself, although it’s labor-intensive and can be challenging to install properly.

If the time has come to install a French drain in your yard, basement, or crawl space, there's a solid chance you've been battling water damage—or the threat of water damage—around these areas. Thankfully, proper drainage should allow you to redesign these areas of your home without the fear of being inundated during the next storm. If you've had to remove a portion of your lawn for an exterior French or curtain drain, consider reseeding your lawn to patch up the spot. You can also take this opportunity to enhance your foundation waterproofing methods or even start thinking about finishing your basement .

The cost of installing landscape drainage with the help of a professional can vary widely depending on factors like the scope of the project, your location, and the specific services needed. Smaller tasks, such as installing a French drain, may range from $10 to $50 per linear foot, while more extensive projects like installing a catch basin can cost several thousand dollars to tens of thousands. Obtaining multiple quotes from qualified professionals is recommended to get a precise estimate for your specific drainage issue.

Heavy rain can affect a leach field because the extra rain can cause the groundwater level to rise. This leads the soil around the leach field to become saturated with rainwater, so it’s no longer able to take in effluent from the leach lines for final treatment. Heavy rainfall can cause the leach field to flood.
