"Don really saved me during a bind. I needed carpet installed in a very short timeframe and he worked his schedule around to be able to do it for me. The carpet looks great, he took his time and made sure everything was right!"

"They were referred to us by Pro Source. Offered a competitive bid for installation. The install had to go over 2 layers of pre-existing linoleum, and that represented special challenges. They were punctual, pleasant, polite, and did a lovely job. They encountered one issue regarding how to best put a trim piece in place between the kitchen and a carpeted room. That was left undone at the end of the day, but they called to apologize that the job wasn't done in one day. They apparently brainstormed on options, returned the next morning, offered a remedy, and again, did a lovely job.

"We hired DeMatteo Flooring to stretch and refasten our living room carpet from the previous owner. They were flexible with scheduling, and went above and beyond to meet our needs. The work was done efficiently and the area was kept clean. Now the carpet looks great. We will use DeMatteo Flooring for future flooring needs."

"Once they have your money and have you sign a form you won't cancel you can't get ahold of them by phone or get them to call you back. They say granite will take one month. When I asked how thin their granite was and wanted it to be the thicker standard used by other companies they said it would have to be ordered. It took 3 months. I kept calling and got no response. I thought I had been scammed because they cashed the check the same day I wrote it. Poor quality granite was used in bathroom. Poorly cut granite by microwave. Carpet scraps were not hauled away."

Carpet Stretching questions, answered by experts

You’ll know if your carpet is stretched enough if it lies completely flat and smooth across your floor. If you have ripples, wrinkled areas, or carpet piling up along the baseboards, these are telltale signs that your carpet is not fully stretched. Release the carpet from the tack strip along one wall and use a stretcher or knee kicker to stretch out the carpet before securing it again.

While it may not always be ideal, you can fix a squeaky floorboard without removing the carpet. Pros use specialized carpet screws and drive them through the carpet into the subfloor, securing floorboards. They may also use nails instead of screws if they suspect the pile will get caught in the screw. While some types of carpet will hide the screws and nails, a low-pile carpet may not.

You may be able to use super glue in a pinch to fix your carpet, but expect the repair to last only a short time. Super glue isn't designed for carpet, so over time, it'll break down, and the carpet piece will move out of place. For the best results, go to the store and grab a bottle of carpet seam glue.

The life span of carpet in a home with children and animals depends on factors like the carpet material’s quality, how frequently you clean and maintain it, and the level of foot traffic. On average, carpets need to be replaced every five to 15 years. Signs of wear, matting, or persistent odors may indicate that it's time to contact a local flooring company to replace your carpet.

No, it works best under synthetic carpets in high-traffic or moisture-prone areas. Avoid using moisture barrier padding under natural fiber carpets like wool, which need air circulation. The barrier can trap the moisture against natural fibers and cause problems. Also, you can skip it in low-risk areas like upstairs guest bedrooms, where the extra protection often isn't worth the added cost.
