At JB’s we offer modern install, sanding and finishing options that make wood flooring work much easier on you. Our many positive reports and the fact that we have earned the Angi Super Service Award every year since 2001 proves that we are committed to ensuring a great experience from start to finish. Our process is guaranteed clean and we offer a variety of low odor/chemical finishes. In most cases you can stay in your home while the work is done, and if you don’t feel like moving those big couches--we can take care of that too! I will guide you through the process by going over every detail, and answering all of your questions. My bids are very thorough and typically last about an hour, although I am willing to spend as much time as it takes to educate my clients. When it comes time to start your project you are going to know exactly what to expect from us and what we need from you in order to ensure that your project's specifications are met or exceeded. We are a local owner operated company with three employees and no sub contractors and I make it a point to have hands on involvement in every project. Between us, we have over 100 years of combined experience in the wood flooring industry so you can rest assured that your project is in good hands. Thank you for considering my company for your project. I look forward to speaking with you soon. Please contact me directly at 612-418-9286 or through my website at jbswoodflooring.com. Don't forget to ask about our Good Value Guarantee! Thanks! JB

"Highly recommend JB’s to anyone looking to upgrade their flooring! The level of experience, craftsmanship, and passion for their work is remarkable. The bid process was seamless and all the options/details of the project were well explained ahead of time. Ultimately our decision was to use the water based system over traditional oil based polyurethane for the overall appearance and drying characteristics. Half down was due when the materials were dropped off. The craftsmen did a great job with prep, install, sanding, dust control, and finish. There was no noticeable odor or smell. The job was completed ahead of schedule on our tight timeline. Final payment of the second half was due upon job completion. There were no hidden costs or change orders. Service, communication, pricing and overall experience was 5 star."

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

Vinyl floors last between 10 and 25 years on average when you care for them and protect them against water damage, though higher-quality vinyl can last longer.

If your vinyl flooring has heavy wear and tear or if it's peeling, it's a good time to do a reinstallation. Other signs your flooring is nearing the end of its lifespan include bubbling, heat-damaged planks or tiles, and discoloration.

If you’re using a carpet runner instead of a traditional carpet, pay attention to your width measurements. Instead of measuring the total width of your staircase with 2 added inches for foldover, simply measure the width you’d like the runner to cover. Runners generally come in standard sizes, so you may need to approximate what would look best in your space.

Luxury vinyl flooring is the best for pet owners, as it holds up well against scratches and accidents. Non-slip stone or porcelain tile are great options as well. Each of these also provide a less slippery surface for pups that like to run around.

As for the flooring options to avoid, these are hardwood, laminate, and carpeting. Claws can scratch hardwood and tear up carpeting. On top of that, removing dog urine from hardwood floors can be difficult; likewise with carpeting. Laminate holds up much better, but it’s super slippery (especially for dogs).

Not all attic floors are created equal—size, layout, and square footage often vary. The amount of weight an attic floor can hold depends on several factors including the joist size and position, any structural supports or subfloors, and the original intent of the attic design. Without structural reinforcement, your floor might only be able to support about 10 pounds per square foot of floor load before collapsing.

Start by removing any debris, nails, or staples left behind from the old carpet. Next, thoroughly vacuum the subfloor to eliminate dust, dirt, and loose particles. If adhesive residue remains, consider using an adhesive remover or scraper to lift it off gently. You can also use a sander. Finally, wipe down the subfloor using a damp rag to ensure all remaining dirt and residue is gone.
