He was professional, timely, and the finished product was exactly what we were expecting. We will be completing another landscaping project sometime in the next year or so and Jack will be our "go to" person for that project too.
Other notables:
1. Jack's work also came with a "one year guarantee," which we almost took advantage of when we thought that our hydrangea tree hadn't made it through its first winter. Jack came out and took a look at it and offered to replace it if we weren't happy. We decided to give it a bit longer before uprooting it and replacing it with another...as it turned out the tree blossomed and has looked great every year since.
2. Jack was willing to work with my husband (a fast-learning "do it yourself-er") and offered a small discount on the labor portion of our bill.
3. The only "downside" to the entire project, in my opinion, is that the sedum plants were planted next to the walkway to our front door. I specifically asked that these be placed elsewhere due to the fact that even though they are pretty they do tend to attract flies, bees, etc. When I got home from work I found them planted...next to the walkway. Had we asked Jack to move them elsewhere, I'm sure he would have done so in a heartbeat. However, my husband and I decided to "live with it" since they only bloom once and do so late in the season. We decided that if it turned into a problem we could simply remove them ourselves and plant something else in their spots.
As I previously mentioned, overall the project went very well and we will not hesitate to use Jack's Nursery and Landscaping again in the future."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/mn/owatonna/jack%27s-nursery-and-landscaping-reviews-5791427.htm"},"position":2},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"G Gardner Concrete & Waterproofing Inc","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"MN","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"SCOTT T."},"reviewBody":"INSTALLED A DRAIN TILE SYSTEM FOR THE BASEMENT. WILLING TO DO MOST OF THE PREP WORK, WHICH IS A BIG PLUS. ACTUAL SYSTEM PUT IN WORKS WELL. PRIOR TO THE INSTALL WE HAD A LOT OF WATER LEAKING ALL OVER THE BASEMENT. HAVE NOT HAD A DROP SINCE. THEY DID BREAK A TOILET DOWNSTAIRS, THOUGH, WHICH THEY AGREED TO TAKE OUT OF THE PRICE. HOWEVER, THE WATER THAT LEAKED FROM THE TANK COULD NOT BE REACHED UNTIL THE CONCRETED CURED. THE CONCRETE TOOK ALMOST A WEEK TO CURE BECAUSE THEY DID NOT SHUT OFF THE OUTSIDE HOSE COMPLETELY AND LEFT IT NEXT TO THE HOUSE. LEAKED WATER DOWN THE BASEMENT WALL FOR 3 DAYS BEFORE IT WAS CAUGHT. RANDY DID NOT WANT TO FINALIZE THE SCHEDULED VISIT UNTIL 24 HOURS BEFORE. THIS DID NOT WORK WITH OUR BUSY SCHEDULE. AFTER AGREEING TO SCHEDULE A WEEK OUT, HE THEN CANCELLED AND DELAYED THE WORK AT OUR HOUSE DUE TO A LARGER CONTRACTED JOB. WHILE I UNDERSTAND THAT THE OTHER JOB WAS PROBABLY MORE PROFITABLE, IT SHOWS A LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/mn/bloomington/g-gardner-concrete-and-waterproofing-inc-reviews-82905.htm"},"position":3}]}

FAQs for plant watering projects in Minneota, MN
Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Lawn irrigation is the process of getting water to your lawn, grass and all, for it to grow. There are five main types of lawn irrigation methods:
Manual irrigation puts you in charge of the flow of water. Using a sprinkler head on your hose is best to evenly distribute the water across your entire lawn. This doesn’t take much time but requires you to be physically outside holding the hose.
Above-ground sprinklers attach to your hose and rotate or oscillate around your lawn. Since these are above-ground, they’ll need to be moved when it’s time to mow, and depending on the size of your property, you might need to move it around your yard for full coverage.
In-ground sprinklers are flush with the ground when not in use but pop up above the ground level when it's time to water the lawn. Piping for these sprinklers is all found underground, and there are different types of sprinkler heads for different uses and lawn sizes.
Drip irrigation involves drip lines that are more efficient than sprinklers for more extensive lawns. This involves a lot of digging since they are installed underground, but it makes it easy for you to mow.
Rainwater collection and irrigation uses nature’s precipitation to water your lawn. This option might not be available in every area since semi-reliable rainfall is needed, though the barrels for this system can range from 15 gallons to 10,000 gallons or more.
The cost of a lawn sprinkler system is $2,550 for the average homeowner. However, this price can range from $350 to $5,000 or more, depending on the type of sprinkler system you install, the size of your yard, and the type of sprinkler heads you choose. For example, rotating or oscillating sprinkler heads are more expensive than stationary ones, making the cost for one sprinkler head $2.50 to $30 each. Likewise, a yard that is 1/4 of an acre in size averages a total average price of $2,460; however, a one-acre yard averages a cost of $9,840.
Landscaping costs around $3,500 but varies widely from $200 to $14,000. Factors that play a part in your final landscaping price tag include:
Location
Yard size
Project size
Materials
Land preparation
Type of landscaping
Considering so many factors, it’s not surprising that the overall costs can differ. A typical landscaping project is flower bed installation, which averages between $800 and $3,000. However, landscape lighting installation is a higher-end project, with a price tag of $2,000 to $6,000.
