"The company advertised was not the same company that actually came out to do the test. It seems like subcontract to other companies. There isn't a secure portal to submit credit card information so they took it verbally over the phone. Not trying to connect the dots but was a strange coincidence that the day after they charged my card that there was a fraud charge on my account."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"Galen is a professional and really cares about the quality of the work he does. I've used him in the past for carpentry/contracting projects and have always been happy with his work. This time, I had him paint my 2 level deck, do some siding on the 3 season porch, paint my garage door and haul away a lot of junk from my garage. He charged a comparable amount to other estimates I got, but did some extras for free as well. He showed up on time, did an excellent job for the price quoted, cleaned up after himself and emailed me photos of the completed work. I was very happy with the quality of what he did, the amount of time it took, and the whole process. I highly recommend him!

"My house was being romodeled, and the work in my ktchen and bathroom wasn"t completely finished. It's cold in Minnesota and i guess pipes can freeze and burst. Well it did in my house, my entire first floor was flooded. I was alone with my kids, my husband was out of town, I had no idea what to do. I called a friend they said I had to call a plumber. Well not a single plumber I called could make it till next morning. no way was that goping to work with a pipe broken and water going everywhere. I went online and found these guys, I am so glad I did too. They had a plumber on its way, he fixed the break, and Water Out Pros were there shortly after the plumber was. They evaluated the problem, tested thngs, and told me what happened, what was effected and what needed to be done to dry it and prevent any other problems. let me tell yah these guys had an estimate and a plan in place before I could panick any further than I already was. They took out the damage in my house, saved what they could right off the bat, and started the drying process. They tested all the walls in the area of the break which was my entire lower level of my house. They cleaned it all up, dried my house and helped with all the forms, and insurance. I called a few other companys before these guys and to my extreme dissapointment the other companies wouldnt even come out until they knew how much they were going to make on the job. One company quoted me and he didnt even come out. The guys at Water Out Pro estimated lower and they were honest. After the initial night, and every drying day to come these guys continually tested, and checked on the equipment. My husband was pleased with the services and reports they gave us. I couldn't have asked for any thing better. They exceeded my expectations and took care of us, the right way the first time.

Mold Testing and Remediation questions, answered by experts

Mold in your air conditioner isn't a good thing, as it can be harmful to your health. If the mold travels through the ductwork or is blown out of the A/C, you and your family can inhale mold spores and develop respiratory illnesses and other problems. Preventing mold from growing in the air conditioner will help protect your health.

Although fiberglass dust is generally not considered toxic, inhaling excessive amounts of it can lead to health risks. Irritation to the respiratory system, eyes, and skin are common effects of fiberglass particle inhalation. While short-term exposure to the dust may only cause temporary discomfort, long-term or chronic exposure can lead to more severe respiratory problems.

Proper safety measures, such as wearing appropriate protective equipment, including masks and goggles, should be observed when handling or working with fiberglass materials to minimize health risks. It is important to note that, unlike asbestos, fiberglass is not associated with life-threatening illnesses.

The most common reason for a smelly dishwasher is a dirty dishwasher filter. The filter is responsible for catching food while your machine is running to prevent clogs. Over time, that filter gets more and more filled with food particles. Cleaning your dishwasher filter monthly can keep the smell at bay.

Signs of mold under silicone caulk include discoloration or dark spots appearing through or around the caulk, a musty odor in the area, and visible growth on the surface of the caulk. Additionally, if the caulk feels soft or spongy, it could indicate moisture trapped underneath, which is a breeding ground for mold.

DIY kits are available for basic air quality testing, but professional services provide more comprehensive results and recommendations. While a DIY kit may seem cost-effective, a professional assessment is more thorough. Inspectors are better equipped to catch all pollutants and hazards, and you'll still need a professional to verify and act on DIY test results. Furthermore, some kits don't test for certain pollutants or only detect their presence without measuring specific levels (like mold spores). It's generally better to opt for a detailed professional assessment.
