"People who did the work were great! Only problem I had was the cost. We took out old fan and had new fan there to be installed. The cost for less than hour of work was $400"

"Did a great job at a price substantially less than other estimates, went over options for florescent replacement and determined that conversion to LED could be done at lower cost than installing new LED fixtures, installed a fixture as part of oackage, not a ad-on. Easily installed another fixtures as part of project. Did not try to sell services I didn't need."

"Stephen replaced the exhaust fan in our bathroom that was a bit of a project - it really was a two person job, but being alone he had to go back and forth a few times stretching out the time used, but he completed the install more than satisfactorily, and then put an indoor outlet in for us...we also wanted an outdoor outlet installed but since the exhaust fan took so long Stephen had used the time he had allotted and had to leave, but we are certain he will come back soon to finish up..."

Customers say: Super punctual

"Jerry Robb oversaw the project and Dave was our handyman who complete the work. We had been referred to Honey Do and More by a trusted friend. We had 3 rooms painted as well as wallpaper removal and the painting of a hallway. Two new toilets were installed. Numerous significant repairs were made. Dave even hand-built a riser for a set of shelves. All work was done professionally and in a timely manner. Great people to work with. We very highly recommend them!"

Small jobs welcome

"Alfredo installed our new Hunter ceiling fan with light kit perfectly. Other Angi contractors we were offered, were only looking to up sell and charged just to get an estimate. They were more like dealing with a corporation than an Electrician. Silver Claw Electric is professional, courteous, reasonably priced, and delightful to have do the job. We would highly recommend Alfredo, who is building a great reputation for himself. Don't even bother with the others!"

"J.P. Handyman did an excellent job of figuring out a solution in a challenging situation, where the materials had to work in the outdoors and curve as well as follow the staircase up and down. Materials arrived, I was kept informed of the installation date, and the installation was flawless. Ball park estimate for the job was close enough."

"Allen was responsive right away via email and text message. He was on-time and/or early for estimate and on the work day. Bathroom and floor look incredible. He installed a product called enduroshield (sp?). It works as promised. Water beads right off of tile and grout, it's amazing to watch. Allen also gave good advice on how to preserve the existing tile. Would definitely hire him again."

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

To convert a ceiling fan to wireless, you’ll need to install a canopy module to access the lighting and fan controls. Many options are available, all of which help you control specific elements of your ceiling fan, so you have plenty of choices depending on your needs.

Yes, you can lubricate a ceiling fan without taking it apart. Ensure the fan is off and clean any dust around the motor area before lubricating. Apply several drops of machine oil to the top of the motor housing where the shaft enters or via the oil ports if available. Regular lubrication helps maintain smooth operation and reduces noise. If your fan lacks an accessible oil port, it may require disassembly or professional maintenance.

Replacing an AC fan motor takes one to four hours for a pro to complete, depending on how easy or difficult it is to access the AC unit. A pro may also spend extra time inspecting the unit to make sure everything else is in good condition. It may take a few days or a week between the time a pro orders a new fan motor and when the replacement comes.

Fan power is measured by CFM, or cubic feet per minute. For every 1,000 feet of square footage in your attic, you need a minimum of 700 CFM. Steeper roofs may need larger fans or about 840 CFM.  You can figure the size of attic fan you need by multiplying the square footage of your attic floor by 0.7. (multiply by 1.2 for a steep roof and 1.15 for a dark roof). That number is the CFM required for your fan to run efficiently.

If you think your fan needs to be oiled, the first thing that you have to do is cut the power to the fan. The best and safest way to do this is by flipping the circuit breaker that leads to that room.  Depending on the model of your fan, you may need to remove a cover. Look for a hole labeled oil. If there isn't one, check the manual or look for schematics online. Once located, use the recommended lubricant or spray.
