"They cut off all of the branches that hung over my house and the dead branches. The salesman told me which branches should be removed, the man that cut them decided one of the branches that should have been cut off, shouldn't be because it looked better. That was in the fall, now that it's summer and the leaves are on the trees, that branch is hitting the boulevard tree. That was the reason it should have been cut off."

"Astounding service!!!!! I honestly can't say enough great things about the crew and the excellent job they did! The only downside is that they are in high demand with a small crew, so it was difficult to get on their schedule. Once it went from normal priority to high priority due to a fallen branch, Ryan worked hard to get to us as soon as possible (within a week). Not only did they do the work expected which was taking down a 100 year old maple without damaging anything nearby - but they were meticulous in cleaning up as they went and being careful about leaving the yard in better condition than they found it. Even blowing the lawn that got trampled with the skid loader to get the grass standing back up! Who even thinks of that? Crazy good service!!!!!"

"They did a beautiful job. It was spendy. It was a lot because it was all cedar and it was kind of custom done. It is very pretty. Their pricing was not inexpensive, but I think the quality of their work and the value were there."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

An unsafe tree can cause serious damage to your home and property, so tree inspections are important to ensure your home isn’t in danger from a nearby tree. Unhealthy trees can also be unsafe trees, as diseases and insect damage can compromise a tree’s stability, leading to potential damage and safety risks.

Yes, tree roots can regenerate after they’re pruned or cut. In fact, trimming can stimulate new growth, especially in healthy trees. The tree’s roots can still grow back even after a tree is cut down, (and learning how to get rid of regrowing tree roots is a separate feat). Still, if you don’t wish to harm a tree, pruning the roots should be done with extreme care, and ideally by a professional.

Generally, if your neighbor’s tree hangs over your yard, you can legally trim overhanging branches. Keep in mind that you cannot cross your property line to cut the trees, and if you damage the tree by trimming it, your neighbor could sue you. Depending on the type of tree and value, this could mean dishing out two to three times the value of the tree.

It’s worth noting that the specifics of this type of tree maintenance and the guidelines around it may vary by location. Do your research and, most importantly, consult with your neighbor.

You can use a felling ax to chop down a tree by following the same prep and steps as a chainsaw, but be prepared to use some muscle. For trees bigger than 7 inches in diameter, it can take some time and serious strength to cut down a tree using just an ax.

You should plant trees at least 15 to 20 feet away from your house, and more if the tree will grow large and spread its limbs. Trees pose several dangers to houses when planted too close. They can litter the roof with leaves and branches, create fire hazards, make a ladder for larger pests, and even damage the foundation as their roots grow.
