"Driftless Exteriors is a true one-stop shop! They pressure washed our home, cleaned the exterior windows, stained our deck, and even painted our kitchen. Everything turned out amazing!! It?s been a long time since we?ve experienced service this good. This small business genuinely puts its customers first. From communication and scheduling to the quality of the work, they kept us updated and informed every step of the way. 5/5 stars! We would absolutely hire them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for interior or exterior work!"

"Tyler with just walls was one of the lower bids we had to paint our new home walls and some pillars, along with staining our doors. He was also the most curteous and responsive to our desires. I also appreciate how kind he was to my daughter and fiancee. I will use them again for any future jobs."

They took great care in preparing the surfaces, ensuring a smooth and even finish. Their color recommendations were spot-on, and the quality of their work is evident in every room. They worked efficiently, kept the workspace clean, and completed the project on time. Power Washing Services: The exterior of my house looks brand new after their power washing service. They removed years of grime, mildew, and dirt from the siding, deck, and driveway. The difference is remarkable, and I appreciate the thoroughness with which they tackled the job. Customer Service: Communication was excellent throughout the entire process. The team was punctual, courteous, and respectful of my property. They provided a detailed estimate upfront and stuck to it, with no surprise charges. "I hired Rushcreek to do some interior painting. There were some very small issues, i.e. replacing the bathroom mirror, shower curtain on the floor, etc., The main thing for me was that I had paid him in full. After he finished the job he billed me again for "additional work" he felt was over and above his initial bid."

Painting questions, answered by experts

Staining pressure-treated wood is a recommended practice. While inherently resilient, it's not impervious to moisture and UV exposure. Staining treated wood is feasible and recommended for enhanced protection and longevity. Applying stain and sealant safeguards against degradation, prolonging its life span. These measures shield the wood from environmental threats while augmenting its aesthetic appeal, ensuring your investment endures the test of time.

Staining a wood fence isn’t guaranteed to prevent warping, but it can help. Plus, it’s a beginner-friendly DIY project that you can finish in a few days. If you want to try it, you’ll start by stripping it of any old stain or paint, then sanding it. After that, you’ll clean it and spot-treat any mold or mildew. When it’s dry, you can apply the stain.

If possible, it is beneficial to paint both sides of your fence to protect the fence more completely from the elements. Painting both sides of your fence will create a more consistent appearance as well. However, the time and cost involved in painting both sides of the fence may cause people to paint only the side they see.

Opt for an interior wood stain that is rated for your type of wood. Consider your personal style preferences as well as the overall use of the room when choosing a color. Remember, the color you see at the store may look different on your actual floors once applied. This is why if you have the chance, it’s helpful to test a few options on a scrap piece of wood in the room first. Once you narrow it down, you can test a small patch on an inconspicuous area in the room to see it on the actual floors.

Wood stain is not flammable after it dries. The solvent in wood stain is what causes the liquid form to be highly flammable, but the stain drying process involves the solvents dissolving, which leaves behind a non-flammable product on your wood project. Wood stain is, however, flammable before you apply it, so you should always store partially full cans and used wood stain rags away from sources of heat and open flames.
