"I needed this work done fast to accommodate a new washer and dryer that was arriving in a few days. Mark answered the phone on the second ring, came by and looked at the project the next day and was able to starting working on it right away. It was a 2 day project and by the time the other plumbers I called finally got back to me,  Mark was almost finished!  He is very knowledgable and advised me on a freezing pipe situation as well. He is very customer service focused and understands that if you are calling a plumber you probably want to speak to a plumber vs. voicemail. He was recommended to me by a neighbor and he will be the first plumber I call from now on.

"This company has treated me well, especially Mike Museus, who worked over a year (last summer and this spring) to find out why there was a fluid leak in my new AC unit. The leak didn't affect the cooling of my home so I wasn't concerned, but Mike was persistent, even to returning finally with an "expert" to help diagnose the problem. What they found was that the A-coil above the furnace was full of tiny pinholes. On the day this was to be replaced, Steve came before 9 a.m. to remove the defective A-Coil and install the new one. He worked on it all day, without lunch or a break, leaving shortly after 5 p.m. There was no charge, as it was still under warranty. With all that, he still took the time to explain to me why the replacement was so important: that the defective A-Coil could eventually leak enough to damage the furnace below it. Because he was using solder, I believe, to install the new part, he turned on the ceiling fan in the adjacent room to mitigate the fumes. My only complaint is that a few of my vinyl floor tiles were damaged/discolored by the soldering process. That part of the flooring has had water damage before and is missing a few tiles so, after a day of hard work, he may have attributed the damage to work done before. It's not a big deal; I just wish he'd have said something. I have to hand it to Steve, though; he was working by himself, which frequently required him to leave the furnace area to check the outdoor AC unit, then rush back to the indoor work. I think it might have been a two-person job. At least, an assistant could have facilitated some of the work done."

"One structure in the form of a arbor with a gate completed our fence.
The other structure a small deck outside of the lower sliding glass doors, with a pergola added,
gives a quiet shady respite to the yard.
We also had Hal design and build a fountain feature added to the garden area itself.  Which gives a soft
and flowing water sound near the small deck.
The work overall is outstanding with a very finished look.  It was also accomplished as per estimate of
time and cost.  They were very considerate to make the work space neat and clean each day at finish
       time.

We would "highly" recommend these contractors to anyone wanting this type of excellent yard work done.

"-First off, I need to state that Scott Butler, our contact, was/is fantastic. Last week, nearly a year after installation, I noticed an issue with how the shower handle had been installed. I was going to fix it myself, but had to order a part. My wife suggested I call Scott, and he came out TWO HOURS LATER! Scott is a shining star, and we wish him the very best in his career.
Here's our story: We bought an Angie's list deal for, I think $5,000 worth of bathroom remodel. Our bathroom layout and situation was not terribly common, so Scott met with us and tried to accommodate us for some of our bathroom's nuances. This is also where we were probably terribly difficult - it took us months to get our materials together, and through it all, Scott was very patient with us.
We initially had a bit of confusion with the price increase, but, again, like a champ, Scott sorted it out. He also realized that e-mail communication was not our best method to discuss all the details, so he made a house visit to explain everything and put us at ease. We sincerely appreciated that.
Then the work started, and so did the issues. They started small, with workers not laying down plastic, tracking in dirt/mud/water, leaving our gate open so our dog could (and did) escape. They became bigger, like our sink - which was to be reinstalled in the bathroom - being destroyed, and the wrong shower head having been ordered. Of course, as anyone who has had such work done knows, this took far longer than expected, but it seemed like many of the issues were easily avoidable. And, again, through all of it, Scott was patient, courteous and fair.
Our frustration climaxed when we were told that the plumbing had been installed incorrectly, and then tiled over, and that instead of removing the tile, GCM wanted to cut a hole in our bedroom wall to access and fix it. We were not happy at all, but it was the most logical thing to do. Scott did a fantastic job of patching the hole, but it's still incredibly noticeable. Luckily we're not married to the wall colors. On the subject of painting, I could have done as good a job, if not better. there are dried drips around the baseboards and smudges on the cabinet doors. It took far longer to paint than expected, and looks like it took about half the time.
In the end, we're should-shruggingly satisfied with the bathroom. My wife and I both felt that Scott did the absolute best he could and was, frankly, saddled with some slipshod workers. If this is the case, I hope GCM looks at who they're employing, and do what they can to foster Scott's incredible work ethic and drive. They've got a real diamond in the rough on their hands.

"

They showed up exactly on time.  They had a challenging task of replacing a faucet assembly that was rusted in place, with a faucet that I had purchased.  They were in an out in less than .5 hours.  They were extremely professional and considerate as I was working on the floor directly below them.  A piece that was installed cam loose a few days later, and they were there in a few hours to make sure it was repaired.  It has been three months and all is great.  It was a tough job - as they had to bust out the old faucet, but they stuck to their original Angie's List advertised price.

"I contacted HW as a possible backup contractor. Even with that understanding, Al Lien came and independently reviewed the damage and said HW would be happy to hold their position as a contingent contractor. Very impressed with their forthright attitude and professionalism. Other contractor did come through. But I am certain I will use HW in the future. Thanks Al!!"

Install Garbage Disposal questions, answered by experts

No, you do not need a garbage disposal to have a dishwasher. A dishwasher will work without one, and while it's rare to see a home with a dishwasher that doesn't have a disposal, it is possible. The two appliances pair well and are often installed together because a disposal simplifies meal cleanup.

However, your dishwasher should not be used as a replacement for a garbage disposal. Subjecting it to continuous food leftovers can lead to major clogs. If you choose not to install a garbage disposal, you should thoroughly rinse your plates or scrape excess food into the trash or a compost pile before loading them into the dishwasher to prevent plumbing issues.

These appliances do unscrew, but you need to disconnect everything properly when you replace your garbage disposal. Make sure you shut the power off to the area first and check that it’s off with a voltage detector. Disconnect the main drain line and P-trap, and then disconnect the dishwasher drain line if you have one connected. You can then unscrew your garbage disposal using a disposal wrench. Just make sure you disconnect the electrical lines before removing your appliance.

If the cost of repairing a leaking garbage disposal is close to the cost of replacing the disposal, then fixing the unit might not make sense. When deciding if you should repair or replace your garbage disposal, consider the age of your garbage disposal, the cost of the repair, and whether your garbage disposal has had other problems recently to help you decide if the cost of repairing the leak is better than the cost of replacing the disposal.

Soil is just one of the items you shouldn't put down a garbage disposal. Garbage disposals are only meant for soft, non-fibrous foods. Large amounts of topsoil, dirt, or rocks will damage the blades of your garbage disposal or clog the pipes. If a small amount of dirt goes down the drain as you repot a plant, you shouldn't have to worry, but never dump a whole pot of soil in the sink for fast disposal.

Garbage disposals are durable appliances that usually last at least eight years as long as you clean and maintain them. It’s relatively rare for a garbage disposal to break on its own, as most malfunctions happen due to user errors, like overstuffing the grinding compartment or damaging the blades by trying to dispose of metal or bone. Eventually, cracks or leaks could develop in the unit, which requires a full replacement.
