"We had Leo and his crew repair and stain our deck a few years ago, and had them back to paint our main level - bedrooms, bathroom, living room, family room, kitchen, and laundry. They also removed and refinished popcorn ceilings. Besides doing a great job. The guys from High Rollers are just fun to have around the house."

"Jamie gave us a couple options and we went with the pressure washing. He also came back and sanded areas that he did not charge us for. We had some issues with weather as far as getting it stained but he kept in touch with us and now the deck looks awesome. He did a great job at a very fair price and would highly recommend him."
Before
The paint was in pretty rough shape.
The polyurethane has darkened over the years. You can see where pictures were hung.
Quite a bit of scraping on the lower portions of the porch trim.
Fence is in good shape, but heavily greyed by the sun

Customers say: Super punctual

"We specifically joined Angie's List so we could find a good painter and it worked!  We got bids from four top-rated companies and decided to go with Bella Casa Painting.  Their bid was in the middle of the pack.   Alan and Roger were very easy to work with.  Roger did a fine job on repairing woodpecker holes and rotted siding and fixing sagging soffits.  It had been 13 years since the house was last painted and we were very concerned that the prep work - scrapping, sanding, caulking, filling, and priming - be done thoroughly because that's fundamental to having a long-lasting paint job.  Alan gave us confidence that they would do a good job on the prep and painting and we were not disappointed.  He recommended a new Sherwin Willilams paint (Emerald) that has a top rating for longevity, and he painted sections of our siding so we could confirm that the three colors we chose would be to our liking.  Because he had to power wash the house anyway, he did our deck for free.  He and Roger also installed new exterior lights for us at no cost.  The painting crew was low-key, polite, efficient, and cleaned up at the end of every day.  We needed to have our house painted in time for visiting relatives, and Bella Casa met our deadline.  Alan gave us a long list of houses to look at so we could see examples of their work and they confirmed the good quality work that Bella Casa does.  He also had no problem showing us the paperwork that confirmed Bella Casa workers are properly insured.  In summary, Bella Casa did a great job and we are very pleased. It's been 3 months since they completed the job and we have not had any need to call them back for any touch-ups.

"Tired of my 30 yr old oak cabinets. I opted to have them painted vs spending thousands more on new or resurfaced. Andres and Mario did a great job in transforming my drab brown cabinets into a more updated white color that makes my kitchen look bigger and brighter. I am very happy with the outcome and I would recommend their services to anyone."

"We were so pleased both with the carpentry crew that replaced the siding on the back of the garage and the painters. Victor and his crew worked very hard and were always personable, even at the end of a long day. They told us when to expect them to arrive and how late they planned to work. There were a couple of things I pointed out that I wanted to make sure they did and they completed them all! I would recommend them to others looking for exterior painting."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Always sand a deck before repainting so the wood is smooth and ready for paint. While you do not need to fully remove paint before repainting, sanding helps remove any areas with weather and sun damage. Sanding also helps remove chipped or flaking paint and opens the wood pores to improve paint adhesion.

The best way to protect a deck is to prevent damage from UV light, water, mold, mildew, insects, and abrasive cleaning methods. Sweep regularly to prevent debris that hides bugs and traps moisture that can result in mold or mildew growth. Use a deck cleaner once a year to remove algae, mold, and mildew. Avoid using pressure washers on high, as they can damage the wood. Applying a deck sealant can protect the wood from UV and water damage, and adding shade can also reduce sunlight damage.

The best exterior paint for the job of painting your front porch depends on the material you’ll be painting. Acrylic paint is often recommended for a wooden porch as it’s durable and easy to apply. If your porch is made of concrete, you’ll need to find a formula suited to that material.

Eggshell and satin finishes are best for porches because they sit in the sweet spot between scuffable matte and distracting high gloss. Your porch sees a fair amount of wear and tear, so you don’t want paint that’ll show every mark like matte, but you don’t want to be blinded by glossy paint in the sun either. Eggshell and satin have durability and a look that sits nicely in the middle.

Ultimately, overapplication of stain can compromise the deck's appearance, durability, and longevity. It may result in an uneven finish, with excess stain pooling, dripping, or drying into thick patches. It can also obscure the wood's natural grain and texture, detracting from the desired aesthetic. Moreover, excessive staining may not fully penetrate the wood, leading to poor adhesion and premature wear. Additionally, thick layers of stain are prone to peeling, cracking, and blistering as they struggle to bond with the surface.
