"Allen was responsive right away via email and text message. He was on-time and/or early for estimate and on the work day. Bathroom and floor look incredible. He installed a product called enduroshield (sp?). It works as promised. Water beads right off of tile and grout, it's amazing to watch. Allen also gave good advice on how to preserve the existing tile. Would definitely hire him again."

"Chris goes above and beyond expectations. He is flexible on the extent of the work, taking on more tasks if needed. He works quickly and efficiently, but remains attentive to his client. If there is a problem unrelated to the job, he goes out of his way to help. As an example, I broke my foot shortly before hiring Chris. He saw that I had trouble getting around, so he helped get things for me that I couldn't reach. Our house had been trashed and we didn't know how much could be recovered. Chris cleaned it top to bottom and did a fantastic deep cleaning job. The carpet in one room was too far gone, so he removed the carpeting and tack strips - and the linoleum under it, getting down to the original hardwood floor that he then cleaned. It all looks great!"

Floor Cleaning and Waxing questions, answered by experts

Steam mops can be a better option than traditional mops because the steam can lift stubborn dirt from floors without using chemicals, and it also kills bacteria and dust mites. However, steam mops have drawbacks: they are more expensive, require an electrical outlet, and are not suitable for all flooring types, such as laminate or hardwood, which can be damaged by the steam.

Regular mopping can also sanitize floors effectively when done with the right cleaning products and techniques, though it may require more effort. The main advantage of a traditional mop is its versatility, as it can be used on any type of flooring. Ultimately, the best choice depends on your floor type, budget, and cleaning preferences.

Commonly used in garages, epoxy is a synthetic resin coating that goes over the top of concrete surfaces. If you’re deciding between polished concrete and epoxy flooring, the best choice depends on your needs and personal preference. Epoxy is durable and highly customizable, while polished concrete tends to require less maintenance. They’re both long-lasting with similar price points, and professional installation is recommended for each.

Before starting on a full refinishing project, determine if your floors need to be completely sanded down to the bare wood or if the damage is shallow and mostly cosmetic. Deep scratches and gouges will require you to rough sand using a drum sander or belt sander, but small surface scratches or floors that have only lost their luster don’t need a complete overhaul. Instead, you can skip the rough sanding step and sand-screen the old finish with a buffer, removing only the top layer of polyurethane.

Sweep daily, use appropriate cleaners, and avoid abrasive tools to maintain the shine.

Regular vacuuming, deep cleaning, and prompt stain removal help maintain appearance and durability.
