"Matt was up front about the cost and understood our policy to obtain estimates from 3 companies before proceeding with work in our home. He itemized the estimate and explained the procedure and warranty. He was pleasant to work with! He did not require an hour of my time or insist that both my husband and I be present in order to give us a sales pitch. The price was competitive and not inflated to cover marketing expenses. I like that the company is family owned & local, and that the workers are employees, not sub-contractors. The men who did the work were efficient and we have had no water in our basement since the waterproofing was done. I believe the contractors who followed Acculevel's work were a little surprised at the materials used, and they had to adjust their plans somewhat, but all is good in the end. Thank you!"

"The technician arrived on time. The cost job was about five times what I was expecting. $628 for a dryer reinstall, plus $322 for the venting. No parts were required for the gas portion of the project as the dryer was moved so that the basement could be waterproofed. The venting was required as the dryer was previously connected with a flexible vent and the building inspector stated it should be solid. Other than the price, everything was great."

"The job needs to be fixed already it wasnâ t done to completion on day one. I needed the concrete patio to shed water away from the house. It currently is shedding water towards the house. Why I hired them is to correct that problem. My hope is this small issue will be able to be resolved today."

"We had extensive waterproofing done to our basement. Tom and the crew were very professional and knowledgeable. They ran into unforseen issues and uncovered a leaking water main pipe. The response time was excellent and the extra work was scheduled quickly. Highly recommend!"

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

There are several small, inexpensive upgrades you can make to upgrade your basement. Although you still need to adhere to building codes and obtain permits when necessary, you can complete small but mighty tasks like painting the masonry walls and installing entertainment devices to make the space more usable.

Proper drainage prevents water damage, mold growth, and foundation settling, protecting your home’s structural integrity.

If you set up a dehumidifier, it will usually dry out your wet crawl space within 12 to 24 hours. Once the space is dry, it’s a good idea to take preventative measures to keep it dry. These include installing a French drain or other exterior foundation drainage system, installing a sump pump in the crawl space, and installing a vapor barrier in addition to leaving the dehumidifier running.

Installing storm windows can protect your home’s interior from heavy storms. Most storm windows are made with enamel-coated aluminum with screens and sliding glass panels. They also make your house more energy-efficient. The average storm window cost is $12,000, ranging between $4,250 and $19,850, depending on mounting, window types, glass types, and frame materials.

Most houses will have vents in the crawl space. This allows for air passage and energy retention, which in many ways can help control the temperature inside the home. If you are able to consider the cost of a crawl space encapsulation, you may not need your crawl space vents at all.
