Customers say: Quick response

"Steve took on a job of concrete driveway cleaning and reclamation that other companies either said could not be done or could be done only at twice the cost. A third company even said we would have to replace the whole driveway. Steve got the job done and we were so pleased that we had him do our sidewalk and porch as well."

"Excellent. Brandon was professional, he was prompt, did everything he promised to do, his rates were very reasonable, his painting skills are phenomenal, his cleanup was immaculate, and he went the extra mile doing additional things for me. I really honestly can’t say enough good things about his work and his professionalism. I highly recommend hiring him for any painting that you need done. I will most definitely hire him again."

"A little more than 1 year ago, I had the good fortune to meet and hire Mary Jo of MJ Interiors to paint the inside rooms of our home. In the months to follow, she painted virtually ever room in our house! MJ was great to work with! She showed up when she said she would, was cheerful, efficient, and skilled. She cleaned up nicely when she finished each day. MJ was helpful and knowledgeable regarding the work to be done. I loved that she would offer ideas on color or technique, but was never pushy to do it her suggested way. MJ sincerely wanted us to be satisfied and happy with the finished product. We have loved the results, and look forward to working with MJ on other projects in the near future!"

Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Yes, a dirty oven can affect its temperature accuracy and distribution. Food debris, spills, and built-up grease on the oven walls and racks can disrupt the heat flow, causing uneven heating and potential temperature fluctuations. This can result in undercooked or overcooked dishes. Over time, a dirty oven can malfunction or even cease working. Pick up any large pieces that may have fallen off a tray (like French fries), prevent anything burning on the element, and run cleaning cycles on a regular basis.

Acrylic tubs are easy to clean with simple items you already have around the house. You can use dish soap, hydrogen peroxide, cream of tartar, or borax to clean an acrylic bathtub. Avoid mixing any household cleaners, including common ingredients like vinegar and bleach, as this can create toxic fumes. It’s also best to start with a spot test of any cleaners you use.

Those switching from an electric stove to a gas stove may lament the loss of its self-cleaning feature. Don’t worry though, you can clean your oven in a few easy steps with some oven cleaner and scrubbing. Bake up a batch of celebratory sugar cookies when you’re finished.

Cleaning your trash cans lightly once per week and then disinfecting and doing a deep clean at least once per month is the best way to prevent trash can odors. You can also invest in some garbage can deodorizers to combat odors or lay down a dryer sheet or a thin layer of baking soda in the bottom of the can under the bag. Replace the deodorizer once every month or every other month, depending on how well it works over time.

Most DIY floor cleaners don’t require rinsing, but you’ll want to make sure you don’t add too much dish soap or oil to the cleaner to avoid having to rinse it after cleaning. For non-wood floors, mix 8 parts warm water, 1 part vinegar, and 1 part baking soda with a few drops of dish soap. For wood floors, use olive oil in that same mixture instead of the vinegar. You can let these solutions air-dry after cleaning your floors with them, although you should manually dry your floors if they aren’t waterproof.
