"They did an excellent job with all the work. They were able to perfectly color match the stain to my new detached garage which had vinyl siding. Very good attention to detail. All seams between siding and windows were caulked. They use high quality Behr products. They started and finished the job quickly and had very good communication throughout the job. Would definitely recommend them to anyone needing this kind of work done."

"I recently had the pleasure of working with Richard Runston, I couldn't be more impressed with the results! From start to finish, the experience was seamless. The painter was professional, punctual, and attentive to every detail. They took great care in prepping the area, ensuring that everything was covered and protected, and the final outcome was flawless. The attention to detail in the strokes and the precision with which they worked made a significant difference. The space looks fresh, vibrant, and beautifully transformed. I highly recommend their services to anyone looking for a skilled, reliable painter who takes pride in their craft. Truly a wonderful job!"

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Wood stain is typically dry to the touch within 6 to 12 hours, but it is not fully cured at this point. You should wait at least 24 hours before applying a second coat or a protective finish. For surfaces like decks, avoid walking on them for at least 24 to 48 hours, and wait even longer before placing furniture. The full curing process can take from 24 hours to one week, depending on the type of stain. Factors like high humidity and cold temperatures can extend drying and curing times, so it's wise to allow for extra time in these conditions.

Apply a wood stain or sealant to properly maintain a wood deck railing and keep it looking new. Sealants protect wood from moisture and weathering. Regularly inspect the railing for loose screws, damaged balusters, and other signs of wear to make timely repairs. Routinely clean the railing using mild soap, water, and a soft bristle brush.

A five-gallon bucket of deck stain will cover roughly 875 square feet in a single coat. Actual coverage will vary based on the type of wood you’re staining and the number of coats. If you plan on doing multiple coats, multiply the square footage by the number of coats to calculate how many buckets of stain you’ll need.

The staining or painting process involves cleaning the deck, sanding surfaces, applying a primer (if needed), and carefully applying stain or paint for an even, lasting finish.

It’s a good idea to sand your porch before painting. This will remove loose or chipped paint and debris, and give you a cleaner surface so that your new paint goes on smoothly. But if the existing surface is in good condition, it’s not necessary to sand your porch before you paint.
