"Shout out to Kevin he was on time, very courteous, knew exactly what I needed and was quick about it. Checked and updated older electrical panel in a loft and inspected and tweaked outlets. On board to install fixtures which were delayed and so I had to make another appointment. All good. I recommended to friends and family. Pricing very fair and will go-to anytime I need further electrical services."

"Anchor Electric is going to be my go-to for electrical work in my home. As a new home buyer, I felt overwhelmed by the electrical work that needed to be done. Dan was efficient and confident. He upgraded our panel which made our home feel safer. We already are working with Dan on troubleshooting a different issue. I would definitely recommend Anchor Electric/Dan!"

Customers say: Quick response

"I used Bremer Electric to add 120v and 220v circuits to my shop. During the first meeting for the estimate they had some excellent ideas to make proposed circuits more flexible and to better meet my needs while keeping an eye on cost. The permit and code requirements were unique for this shop installation. All were researched and solved by Bremer. The state electrical inspection was completed without issue. One time, courteous, professional, worked with my schedule and my budget. The jobsite was clean when they completed their work. I will not hesitate to use them again and recommend them to friends and family."

Small jobs welcome

"I called them to replace a switch that was not the one I wanted. Left messages with two electricians s from Affordable Electric who worked on my house. I have received no response from them to correct the issue. I am very disappointed with Affordable Electric lack of customer service and follow up."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Burnsville’s harsh winters, freeze-thaw cycles, and summer humidity can cause expansion and contraction in wiring, leading to loose connections. Ice dams can drip water into exterior outlets, while spring flooding near the Minnesota River can threaten basement circuits. Summer storms often bring power surges, making surge protection vital. Preparing your electrical system each fall helps prevent seasonal issues and keeps your home’s wiring safe year-round.

Helpful?

In Burnsville, habits like running multiple space heaters on one circuit, leaving dehumidifiers running in damp basements, or letting snow and ice accumulate near outdoor electrical panels can all strain your system. Frequently plugging in high-wattage appliances without checking circuit capacity, or using outdated extension cords outdoors, also increases wear. Regularly checking outlets and updating old wiring helps protect your home’s electrical panel and overall safety.

Helpful?

In Burnsville, basements often need electrical updates due to moisture affecting outlets and sump pump wiring. Outdoor fixtures and outlets face harsh winters and may require repairs every few years. Kitchens and bathrooms benefit from upgraded GFCI outlets and modern wiring for new appliances. Homes built before the 1990s frequently need main electrical panel replacements to meet today’s safety standards and increased power demands.

Helpful?

Electrical updates in Burnsville can impact heating, sump pumps, and smart home devices. If you notice flickering lights when the furnace starts, GFCI outlets tripping after electrical changes, or your sump pump failing during heavy rain, your systems may be interconnected. Always monitor HVAC, water heaters, and garage outlets after electrical work, especially during seasonal transitions, to ensure all systems operate smoothly together.

Helpful?

Electrical maintenance in Burnsville should include inspecting outdoor outlets and weatherproof covers before winter, checking for signs of corrosion after snow melts, and ensuring your electrical panel is free of dust and moisture. Test GFCI outlets monthly, especially in kitchens and bathrooms, and look for rust on basement wiring after heavy rain. Annual professional inspections are recommended for homes over 20 years old to ensure safe, reliable performance.
