A good way to remember this is that the paper should face the “warm side” as it’s the vapor barrier, meaning it should face toward where the heat will be coming from.

If you have intermediate DIY skills and protect yourself with a full PPE suit, chemical-resistant gloves, goggles, and a respirator, you can install spray foam insulation yourself. DIYers have access to two-part spray foam retail kits that are best for use on small projects. Hiring a professional installer is likely the best option if you need to insulate a large space.

Bubble wrap is better for moving since it can be cut to size, whereas dish foam comes in precut sheets that are harder to manipulate.
