I would not care about it if the finishing would have been neat. Installing weed barrier and mulching is the most basic that any inexperienced landscaper would do it right. He was able to find era-appropriate flooring for the porch. He also installed much safer handrails on the steps up from the street to the porch and corrected the unsafe side entry by installing a sturdy platform and step.
