Rob met with us and listened to what we wanted to do.  He presented us with a detailed proposal at a fair price.  He followed the proposal document carefully throughout the project and helped us focus on what we had agreed to do.  Both Rob and Tom were very professional and courteous.  They were respectful of our home and were a pleasure to be around.  By the end of the project they felt like part of the family!
Our bathroom was very ugly and outdated.  They removed the old cabinets, repaired the plaster, painted, installed new cabinets, tub surround and toilet.  It looks beautiful now!
In our kitchen they removed wallpaper, repaired plaster, painted walls and ceiling and removed our existing flooring.  We found unexpected hardwood underneath so we hired The Sandman to refinish our floors because the damage was more extensive than Rob could repair.
Our stairwell was covered with stucco.  They removed it, repaired the walls, including a large hole in the plaster and then painted.  It looks great.
We will definitely hire them again!

"It went very well, from the estimate to completion. Greg was clear, honest and direct and he cares about his customers being satisfied. The workmen arrived  on the date agreed upon, were generally neat and clean and careful about my  house. It was a big, messy job and they cleaned up well. There were a few details to finish and Greg came personally to complete the little things. For example, during the clean out and other work, a t.v. cable was pulled loose and fell between the walls.   Greg came back to fix it. He made sure I was  happy with the job. I can already notice a difference from the pebble/dirt crawlspace and the new one with the liner. I notice less dampness in the family room, and there is no more smell, even on days it is raining. I trust it will be significantly warmer in the winter.

"Overall my project was a success! Off the Grid crew got this job finished within a few days. They were out there there from the time the sun rose to the time it set, and made sure to keep me updated with what got finished. At the end of the task, what made a difference in my experience was being asked if I was satisfied with the job. "When we decided to redo our kitchen in April of 2012, we knew what we wanted fixed, our budget and that's about it. We started talking to contractors, kitchen design centers and researching ideas. We quickly realized we were in WAY over our heads. A lot of places offer free design services if you buy all of your materials through them. We didn't want to be tied down. We didn't want a complete tear down to the studs, either. Homemade Design to the rescue! First of all the price was an absolute steal for the service provided. Amanda and co. Listened to what we wanted and came up with inovative,functional and beautiful solutions. Our house is old. We wanted to keep that 1920s feel, but still have a dishwasher, granite countertops and stainless appliances! Amanda had the brilliant idea of only replacing the bottom cabinets. She also gave me excellent instructions on how to refinish my existing cabinets so they look like new. This was a perfect solution for US. Homemade Design gave us ideas for layout, cabinets, lighting, wall paint, appliances, furniture, countertops, backsplash, faucets, sink,and cusions for built in. She would have recommended flooring if we wanted,but we didn't. Now, Amanda is more like a consultant...( I actually called her my kitchen remodel therapist). You still are ultimately responsible for the plan and what works for you. If your measurements are off (like mine were) that's on you. I was adament about no island and no microwave over the stove and so she didn't put those in the design. Some suggestions were not my style. And I said so. Honestly, if I picked out my own kitchen it would be so safe: white subway tile or something. Amanda gave me the guts to mix patterns and create something spectacular! It took almost a year to complete ( contractors fault) We did a lot of work ourselves. We bought the cabinets, backsplash tile, light fixtures, table and banquette cusions through Homemade Design at a great discount, we checked!! If you try shopping for any part of your kitchen, the volume of choices can be overwhelming. We loved having Amanda narrow it down for us. Communication was through email, mostly. She never took longer than three business days to respond to my million questions or concerns. Awesome. 5 months later, my kitchen is a dream come true. And I owe it all to Homemade Design!

"When you purchase this service you are asked to send pictures of the room,  and a layout drawing  with the dimensions in inches.  I sent pictures from every angle in the room.  My layout drawing was rough, but I made sure that the dimensions were correct.  It is important to show doors, and width from door to wall, windows and spaces between window and wall, etc.

Explain how you invision the room and what you would like to keep in the room. You should let her know what you like and dislike as far as fabrics, colors, and style of furniture.  I hate paisley, but failed to include this in the information that I sent to the designer.  So there was some paisley in my concept board. I told her what I liked, but failed to tell her what I disliked and would not want to see in the room.

Once I sent pictures, dimensions, and room layout I received 2  suggested layouts for the room from Jill.  I selected the layout that I preferred.  You they receive a concept board for the room with  her suggested furnishings and fabrics. To my surprise she also gives alternatives to what she suggests.  Her suggestions are in various price ranges so that you can choose within your budget.
