Awesome Service! I was having problem getting my boat started. I got Jerry's number for Craigslist. I called him last Sunday morning. I was surprised he answered right away. He was working on a job for a customer in Cadillac. He stopped by later that afternoon and took a look at my boat. I had already done some troubleshooting on my own and was nearly certain it was stator. Jerry tested it with multimeter and confirmed that the stator was infact shot. The arrangements we made is that I would order the part and he would charge $120 to install it. Since, I was going to be a way for a couple weeks and really wanted to get this fixed asap, I had the part delivered to his office. We kept in constant communication over the week. The part arrived and he installed it today. He sent me about 6 pics showing the motor running and we had a nice talk over the phone. He offered to come out when I get ready to launch the boat for the season, to make sure there are no issues. Jerry's a good guy to know. He answers the phone right away, responds to emails, and is very professional and courteous. Aside from working on outboards he also does small engine repair and welding and fabricating. I plan on keeping his number on file and will be using his services in the future.

  • Lark Lawn & Garden Inc
They have great in store service and are professional. But there service falls short. I've taken two items in a snow bolwer and a chain saw. The bottom plate on the snow blower was not secured with all of the bolts I finish the job. When they repaired the chain saw, the first time it was used it would not shut off, they failed to reconnect the kill switch.

First, it's important to note the people at Lark were nice enough. They had some personnel issues which contributed to a simple repair taking 3+ weeks. Since it wasn't snowing, that was not onerous-though certainly a lot longer than originally indicated. While the snowblower was under warranty, I had to get it to them to avoid a pick-up / drop off charge of $40 each way. This seemed ridiculous as it was delivered in this condition. They would not budge on this, even when I reminded them this was a pretty poor reflection of their quality control seeing they delivered it in this condition. I guess I should have called them last year, or done a better job of inspecting it when it was delivered. Since I had no desire to incur an $80 dollar delivery charge, I took the cover off at the top of the handles. This is where the chute assembly control is located and I wanted to visually inspect the area just to make certain the issue wasn't something simple like a loose nut. Taking the cover off involved removing 4 bolts. Seeing nothing obvious, I left the cover off as l knew if I put it back on, they would simply have to take it off again. Big mistake. They told me I voided the warranty by unscrewing 4 bolts. After arguing about this, they again would not budge. I ended up paying for the delivery as well as the repair as I needed the snowblower back. Just be advised that if you deal with Lark, they're going to hide behind their warranty policy. They won't meet you in the middle regardless of circumstance. While voiding the warranty was unintentional on my part, it was my fault. I hoped they might waive the delivery fee as an accommodation. Some simple acknowledgement they delivered a product that was never in good working order. Nope. Nothing. By charging me $130 for a simple repair and pickup and delivery, they've not only lost me as a customer, they're going to lose access to everyone I talk to about this. Again, I want to emphasize, technically they did nothing wrong. However, they have plenty of competition and I prefer to work with people who are more focused on customer service.
