It was picked up with both keys on a key ring, it was returned the first time with only one key that was not mine. The key they gave me was rusted, was broken so that it could not be put on a ring and was very worn. It now has a loud clattering noise when the tractor is running that was not there before.
It is snowing, I need to keep not only my own drive cleared out, but the drive of my 84 year old mother next door. I am unable to get any resolution from Lark Lawn and Garden and they have my equipment.
Rest assured, I will never deal with them again. I am hoping to get my equipment back before spring.
I have filled a complaint with BBB and have left a review on their Facebook page as well as here on Angie's List. I am escalating this to Husqvarna Corp., as well.
Beware, these people are difficult to deal with. There is plenty of competition out there and rest assured they will not get any further money out of me for future work and I will be purchase any future equipment from a more reputable company.
While the snowblower was under warranty, I had to get it to them to avoid a pick-up / drop off charge of $40 each way. This seemed ridiculous as it was delivered in this condition. They would not budge on this, even when I reminded them this was a pretty poor reflection of their quality control seeing they delivered it in this condition. I guess I should have called them last year, or done a better job of inspecting it when it was delivered.
Since I had no desire to incur an $80 dollar delivery charge, I took the cover off at the top of the handles. This is where the chute assembly control is located and I wanted to visually inspect the area just to make certain the issue wasn't something simple like a loose nut. Taking the cover off involved removing 4 bolts. Seeing nothing obvious, I left the cover off as l knew if I put it back on, they would simply have to take it off again. Big mistake. They told me I voided the warranty by unscrewing 4 bolts.
After arguing about this, they again would not budge. I ended up paying for the delivery as well as the repair as I needed the snowblower back.
Just be advised that if you deal with Lark, they're going to hide behind their warranty policy. They won't meet you in the middle regardless of circumstance. While voiding the warranty was unintentional on my part, it was my fault. I hoped they might waive the delivery fee as an accommodation. Some simple acknowledgement they delivered a product that was never in good working order. Nope. Nothing.
By charging me $130 for a simple repair and pickup and delivery, they've not only lost me as a customer, they're going to lose access to everyone I talk to about this.
Again, I want to emphasize, technically they did nothing wrong. However, they have plenty of competition and I prefer to work with people who are more focused on customer service.
