"I always heard horror stories of hiring painters and the cost. My sister in law recently sold her house and they wanted $10,000 to repaint! So when we needed to repaint 9 rooms in our new house I was expecting to have to pick and choose what rooms were going to be professionally done to save on money. Boy, was I wrong. Not only was WOW wonderful, but UNDER my budget (and it wasn't anywhere near 10,000!). Jason came out and took measurements of the rooms. He was very nice, professional, friendly and helpful. He even gave me tips on how to handle wallpaper in this one bedroom because I wasnt sure if they would cover it (I took his advice and the room came out great). He came out Monday and I told him deadline was Friday because movers came Saturday. They were done by Wednesday! They painted the whole first floor with 4 rooms (including a great room and ceiling), 2 hallways, 2 stairs and a full basement. Many types of peel-and-stick wallpaper can hold up to environments with some level of moisture, such as bathrooms—especially peel-and-stick wallpapers made of vinyl or polyester. However, if you’re considering wallpapering a bathroom that sees a lot of moisture, like a kids’ bathroom or a full bathroom with a steamy shower and inadequate ventilation, even the highest quality wallpapers will peel.

Most jobs take 1-3 days, depending on room size and adhesive strength.

Stubborn adhesives, multiple layers, and drywall damage can complicate removal.

Think hard before deciding to German schmear your home’s exterior brickwork. If you do not like the look, you are pretty much stuck with it, as it is impossible to remove this finish the way you can remove paint. You risk damaging the underlying brick if you have to chisel and acid-wash it away. It will also take a very long time, and remnants of the mortar wash will always remain.

While it is possible to paint over wallpaper, it’s not always ideal. If the wallpaper is firmly adhered, has no bubbling or peeling, and isn’t textured, you can try to prime and paint over it. Use an oil-based primer to prevent the adhesive from bleeding through. However, if the paper is damaged or loose, removal is the better long-term solution.
