"I am a caretaker for a large lodge. I called Cody in distress as my first person who was supposed to do the stump removal never showed up in almost 5 weeks but my family recommended him, finally I decided to call Great Lakes Tree service. We had bankers scheduled to come soon so I needed the work done quickly. Cody was amazing in that he put our job on high priority! He was so concerned and pleasant to work with! He had the stumps removed and spread the wood chips so beautifully, he was meticulous in his work! I canâ t Thank Him enough! Highly recommend this company!"

"I had an area of my deck rotting out. I had 2 other companies out that only wanted to sell a whole new deck and feed me a bunch of BS. Roots met me and showed me exactly what was bad and what he could do to fix it and make it look like it was never patched. His price was very fair. No BS, straight to the point. They worked clean. No mess, and they were very mindful of the many flowers and shrubs along the deck. Job well done."

Topsoil costs from $12 to $55 per cubic yard, depending on the type you choose. For example, screened black dirt will cost about $15 per cubic yard. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.

When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.
