"Very professional. Wonderful to work with. We hired them to put an addition on our home. They did everything very well : foundation, building the rooms, putting in insulation, drywall, painting, flooring, windows, roofing, plumbing, framing doors and windows, ductwork. Spackle is composed of gypsum and binding agents, making it a thicker compound best suited for small wall repairs like filling nail holes or cracks, as it dries quickly and is easy to sand. For small repairs, either product can be suitable. However, you can use joint compound for small jobs in place of spackle, but you cannot use spackle for large-scale taping and mudding projects.

Deciding whether to repair or replace drywall can be tricky, but your top considerations should be the extent of the damage and what caused the damage. For instance, if you need to repair a small hole caused by a doorknob that hit the wall, you can safely patch it without a second thought. However, if you have significant drywall damage caused by water damage, it’s best to thoroughly remove the drywall to inspect and repair the pipes behind it before replacing it.

Which style of corner bead you choose—whether metal or paper-faced—depends on your preference and if you’re comfortable using metal-cutting tools and a hammer. Metal bead offers superior strength and durability but its installation is slightly more involved. We’d say for most cases, it’s better to use metal bead but if you’re not comfortable working with metal, paper-faced bead will work just fine.
