New garage door installs New garage door opener installs Garage door repairs Broken spring replacement ARK Garage Doors provides quality garage door installs and repairs. We found success by focusing on two things, quality and affordability. I started this company because I worked for other garage door companies for 15 years and when filling out their invoices I realize how much they over charged. My sister runs the office, I built my shop on my land so we keep our overhead low so we can install the same door for 30% cheaper then our competitors. 1 week ago I called 3 local companies and asked the price for 2 car garage door spring replacement, they were 50 dollars more expensive then my spring change at 125.00. I am licensed and insured and keep copies on me at all times so feel free to ask.

Garage Doors questions, answered by experts

With good maintenance, garage doors can last for 15 to 30 years. You might consider a replacement if yours is approaching that age and struggling to work properly. For instance, if your garage door is slow to open or close (or doesn’t open or close at all) or is loud even after lubricating the parts, you might need a new one. Similarly, if it’s sagging, uneven, or has other visual signs of wear and tear, it may be time for an upgrade.

If you're cleaning out your garage, taking everything out first and starting with a clean slate can help. Reviewing what you have and what you want to get rid of makes organizing your garage, thoroughly cleaning the space, and making any repairs easier. When you put back the items you’re keeping, use designated storage solutions to make it easier to find things and keep them tidy.

Garage doors that are not insulated can be a major source of heat loss. That’s why it’s essential to winterize your garage door with insulation and weather stripping to prevent heat loss and keep it warm more easily. Consult a local garage door installer if you need help determining the cause of your garage losing heat.

When choosing a garage door, start by considering your budget, the weather in your area, and how the door will complement your home’s look. If you’re not sure where to begin, call a local garage door company. They’ll help you figure out what matters, guide you through options, and take care of the installation.

You can expect your seal to last anywhere from 1 to 5 years. Several factors affect this—material, frequency of use, and the weather. For example, seals made from high-quality rubber are built to withstand the elements and can go the distance with a little TLC. If your door sees a lot of action or faces extreme heat or cold, the seal could wear out more quickly. Regular maintenance—like cleaning and lubrication—can make your seal last longer. And while it’s rare, a professionally installed seal on a smooth floor can potentially last up to 10 years.
