"Paul and his crew did a great job replacing my driveway. The communication was outstanding, very attentive to detail, kept my yard tidy throughout the time they were working and did a thorough clean up once finished. I would highly recommend AP construction and concrete."

"Winter was comeing in fast and they were here evryday. They worked hard trying to finish before snow. They worked long hours and did a wonderful job finishing the driveway to the specs we requested..They were extremely professional .We were so happy with their work.We hired them to come back in spring and lay a sidewalk and a slab in our back yard. They did what others said couldn't be done due to dropping temperatures. We recommend them for all your concrete work."

"First of all, Thomas and his crew are the hardest working guys I have ever seen, each worker knew what had to be done and did it, there eye for detail was amazing, they went way beyond what was needed to make sure my patio was going to be perfect and it is, I very pleased with everything and their bid was lower than all others by 600.00 to 800.00, they even cleaned up in the street where their trucks had been parked, yes I would hire Larkins Brothers for any project I needed done in a second, no need to have a bunch of contractors that might show up and might not show, anything I need will only take one call, Larkins Brothers."

Retaining Wall Installers questions, answered by experts

The longevity of flood walls depends on how they were constructed, but most wood, gravel, and cement flood walls last 10 years. While aluminum flood walls may cost far more initially, they can be a good investment as they can last decades and will not be damaged by exposure to the elements.

While vinyl is the least costly material for building a retaining wall, the most cost-effective method is to use wood or concrete blocks for a DIY retaining wall under 2 feet tall. Wood is inexpensive but lasts 20 years or more with care. Concrete can cost a little more but is stronger and will last longer with less maintenance.

Generally speaking, a retaining wall should be between 3 and 4 feet high, depending on variables such as the wall-building material, the purpose of the retaining wall, and more. If you want your retaining wall to be taller than 4 feet, check with your local building ordinance office for the maximum allotment. You may also need a special permit for retaining walls over 4 feet tall.

DIY is possible for small projects. Professional installation ensures structural integrity and durability for larger walls.
