"Brady came and gave me an estimate.  They were able to start the work the next day.  It went quite well.  They ran into a slight problem in that some of the sub floor came up with the tile.  But it did not result in much of a price increase.  The floor was extremely uneven, but after they were finished, it was even and ready for us to install our floating floor.  They did a great job.

"Job was done perfectly. He altered an opening for my range and buffed and polished spots on my stone counter I had damaged years ago. Professional, reasonable and knowledgeable. He also traveled 100 miles one way to complete the job! Highly recommend!"

Rather than simply cutting granite countertops to size before installation, your contractor will need to carefully pour the epoxy over an existing surface.

Fortunately, there are many types of heatproof countertops. Granite, quartzite, concrete, and stainless steel are all fiery contenders. These surfaces work best in busy kitchens where hot pots, pans, and baking sheets are part of the daily routine. Plus, their durability means you get a long-lasting work surface that won’t flinch at a bit of heat or heavy use. However, many stone and concrete counters require a sealer, which is typically not heatproof.

A minimum overhang of 10 to 12 inches is generally recommended for countertop or island seating to provide enough legroom. For increased comfort, an overhang of 15 to 18 inches is ideal, allowing for more space and a relaxed experience. However, a 10-inch overhang can be sufficient in certain situations, such as for bar-height countertops, when using small stools, or in smaller kitchens where space is limited. Taller countertops may also require less overhang than shorter ones. Ultimately, you should consider your specific needs for legroom and measure to ensure the overhang fits comfortably within your kitchen's layout.

While porcelain countertops are durable and don’t chip easily once installed, they aren’t chip-proof. If they’re subject to blunt force, chips, cracks, or other damage can occur. Unless you’re very confident in your installation abilities, hiring a local countertop installation company will reduce the risk of damage.
