Joe was available to come out that day to address the smell and went ABOVE AND BEYOND to ensure the leak was fixed. He added a shutoff valve to the fireplace gas line in the basement, and replaced the inner workings of the fireplace itself. We then proceeded to order gas logs from Joe and he installed those just last week. His prices are fair, he is extremely clean, and his work is fantastic. "Valerie and Bob called ahead to let me know they were coming. They showed up on time at around 8:20am and got right to work. Valerie spent nearly the entire morning outside on the roof (in freezing cold weather) upgrading our mast, power-meter, meter-socket and installing the 30amp outlet for the generator. Bob worked in the basement removing the old panel and getting the connections labeled. He then mounted the new box and together they got the new wires routed through the wall of the house and sealed the openings. They were professional and worked hard to get the job done. Bob left a little earlier and Val stayed until after 5:00pm to make sure it was completed.

To quote the job, I was in contact with Ryan via email. He was able to give me accurate pricing and quick responses to questions. They were very clear about what needed to be done, and well informed of local and state requirements for my area. Pricing was a little higher than I expected, but not unreasonably so, and certainly not as much as some of the quotes I received. And after seeing the work involved, I would chalk it up to market forces/demand.

"To make a long story short, the day after he performed the above work another toilet in the house developed a very minor leak around its wax base. This toilet is directly above where he had soldered, in my basement, one of the new spigots to the existing copper pipe.
Bob said these were unrelated and I ordinarily would tend to agree. However, it seems unlikely a wax seat, which had never leaked before, would simply begin to leak on its own only hours after work had been done immediately around it. I was left wondering if he had used the toilet drain pipe as leverage while disconnecting the copper pipe right next to it (which took some force and some banging). I don't know how else to explain such an unlikely coincidence. The bottom line was I had a new problem to fix.
As for the toilet fill valve and flapper he replaced, he did not install the valve to code (not high enough in the tank) nor properly install the refill tube. The kit's instructions read: "WARNING: Do not shove refill tube down overflow pipe. This may cause significant water waste." Bob shoved the refill tube down the overflow pipe. He also used an older kit; newer, more water-efficient valve kits are available.
(To keep this review short, I'm omitting other aspects of his work I was also unhappy with.)
Bob did schedule and arrive promptly, which got me out of a bind as I was preparing to leave town, and he charged a fair price. But in addition to not solving one problem, he created at least two additional problems for me to fix."
