"Fantastic. Great job. On time. Did lots of extras at no extra charge. Would highly recommend him. Plan on using him again in the spring to resurface both decks and build us a new shed. Also more painting on the interior."

"I just want people to be spared the same grief we went through. Once he had our deposit that is where it went bad. He doesn't return any of your calls and will only text you. The landscaping on the hill was never done and the steps were installed but very poor craftmanship as they are falling off. Then we became part of his ploy to rid himself of any and all debt. Basically took our money and took off."

Woodworking questions, answered by experts

A carpenter typically does woodwork involved in constructing a home or other building, such as framing, installing sheathing, hanging kitchen cabinets, and installing trusses. These tasks are different from the focus of a woodworker, who typically does the finer interior detailed woodwork such as trim and moldings.

Cedar and cypress are great wood choices for a window planter box because they’re readily available and won’t break the bank. However, there are plenty of wood types appropriate for a window flower box. Try using redwood for its natural resistance to rot, though it is on the expensive side.

Building a wooden carport costs between $3,000 and $12,000, depending on size, materials, and custom features.

Pallet wood can withstand all kinds of outdoor weather conditions, which is part of why pallet fences are so appealing to DIY-ers. You can weatherproof the wood further before you paint or stain it, as well. Pallet fences are low-cost, easy to install, and can withstand sun and rain exposure without rotting.

The national average cost of a building permit is about $1,600, but this number includes extensive renovations. Homeowners typically spend between $150 and $2,000 in general on one or multiple permits for their project. Conversely, permits for simple projects, such as minor electrical renovations, could cost as little as $10.
