"Amazing well rounded contractor that wowed us from the beginning. Always prompt and on time for appointments, with great communication in between. He took care of our door, frame, and threshold just like I imagined it should be, and went above and beyond to do it correctly. My family highly recommend Mike for any home projects you may need help with"

We are a licensed and insured residential and commercial fencing company. We provide a full service fencing experience from small residential repairs to $100K+ commercial projects.
"It went badly. We ordered the fencing around September and the fencing didn't show up until December. There are was no communication from them unless I initiated it. Instead of being straight with us and saying it would take months, they took our down payment and siad nothing. When they did show up, they would leave early in the afternoon. The work was not finished until February. the cold weather prevented them from backfilling the post holes and frozen clumps of sol were left all over the lawn that I could not move until Spring. When they told me the job was completed, There was debris all over the yard in addition to the clumps of frozen soil. They threatened to sue me when I did not pay them within two weeks of finishing the job (even though it was clearly not done!). then a portion of the fence blew over in March due to wind, when the ground thawed (because the holes were not fully backfilled). Several of the other holes were loose and could be moved back and forth until I filled them with the soil. I reported them to the to The Attorney general's office. They told me that the fence was guaranteed for life. when a cracked showed up at the bottom of one of the posts, I contacted them to find out how I could replace the post, they never responded. DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE. They are untrustworthy, dishonest, and their work is sloppy."

Family owned & operated, fence and gate contractor.
"We were pleased with the fence, but disappointed with the gate. It is a two door gate that leads into our backyard. They used enormous hinges which left a large gap in between the doors and the post. It's large enough for my sister's dog to slip through. The doors on our gate used to swing open 180 degrees which helped in bringing and removing large objects to and from our backyard. Our lawn company could drive their lawnmower through. Now the gate only opens 90 degrees. Tony said the door can slide off the hinges easily. That's not convenient. We cancelled our lawn service and bought a lawn mower. They also put the stop latch on the wrong door. We used to open the door that was closest to our deck. Now the other door opens. It's not a huge deal, but it's a little less convenient. All of the screws are rusting. I've read that cedar erodes metal faster, but this seemed pretty rapid. Some were screwed poorly into the wood, and the wood split at several places. I've reached out to Tony all summer about fixing the gate. We even offered to pay for any extra materials it would take to fix it. Each text said he could absolutely fix it, no problem. He was busy and would let us know when he was available. It's been five months now. He never responded to my last two texts. I'm really disappointed."

Yes, you should confirm that the fencing installer you hire is insured before proceeding with the job. In most cases they do not need a specific fencing license, but rather a general contractor’s license. Hiring a licensed contractor protects you as a homeowner from fraud, poor work, and potential legal woes.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Licensing and certification are not necessary.
The average cost to install a fence is between $1,760 and $4,500. These costs are what an average homeowner spends, but you might spend more or less depending on several factors. For a smaller DIY project, you might get away with spending as little as $430, or for a much larger project (like fencing for a 5-acre yard), you can spend in excess of $43,000.
Besides the size of your yard, other factors like your fence material, fence height, site prep, and additional fence features like gates all impact the overall cost. Additionally, the high cost of raw materials and manufacturing can all make the overall price tag higher.
The overall cost of a fence project depends on numerous factors, including the size of your yard, fence material, fence height, site preparation, and additional features like gates.
Before you hire a fence installer to build you the fence of your dreams for your yard, it’s important to set expectations up front by asking questions. Some questions to consider include:
Do you offer a warranty?
Do you offer financing or a payment plan?
Do you have references?
Do you have photos of previous work?
What type of fencing materials do you work with?
Do you have references?
Are all fasteners exterior (galvanized)?
How deep are you concreting the post?
What is the lowest maintenance fencing?
How will you deal with slopes?
Only some fences require a permit to build. Factors like where you live, how tall your fence will be, and where in your yard you plan to build all impact the need to have a permit. Below are a few examples of when a permit is needed; it’s always best to check with your fence installer to confirm if a permit is required.
Generally, if you live somewhere rural, like on a farm, there’s a good chance you will not need a fence permit. However, you will most likely need a permit if you live in a highly populated area. In addition, many privacy fences in your backyard won’t need a permit if it is 6 feet or shorter. However, you might need a permit for anything over 3.5 feet in your front yard.
Any solid panels over 8 feet in height will require a permit, while a 2-foot lattice top on a 6-foot fence does not require a permit.
Fence installers typically charge by the hour when working on a project. Typically, you can expect to pay around $50 per hour for fence installation. Your project might take anywhere from 24 to 72 hours, depending on the length of your fence, overall project complexity, and fence type.
