"Mario and his helper did a fantastic job. They did exactly what they promised to do. They showed up when they said they would and installed the tile perfectly throughout. It was amazing how quickly they work. We hired Mario after we fired a previous handyman who didn't show up when he said and when he did start the work was so bad I had to tear it all up before it set. Mario fixed it up and made suggestions on direction of the tile that turned out so well. They were friendly and polite and we always felt we could trust them to be alone in the house. My wife doesn't trust anyone but she trusted them. They were worth every penny."

When there are even small gaps or hills in the subfloor beneath the tile, this puts more pressure on the tile when you walk around on the floor. Natural stone floors, especially pebble-style tiling, are one of the least slippery options for a shower floor. Natural stone has a texture to reduce slickness, and pebble-shaped tiles add more visual and textural contrast while reducing slippage. Vinyl tiles are also designed with anti-slip texture for added safety. If you have a slippery tile, be sure to add a grippy shower mat to reduce the risk of falls.

Technically, you can start tiling in a corner and work your way out. However, it's not traditionally how tiling is done. Instead, work from the bottom middle of the wall. Tile out the entire row with whole tiles before moving on to the next row. Once you finish installing all of the whole tiles, then you focus on tiling the corners.

A cement backer board is not needed for laying tile on concrete. Sometimes referred to as a cementitious backer unit, or CBU, backer board should be used if the subfloor is plywood or OSB.
