"Andrew and his crew are fantastic. On time, knew what the issue was (fixed an issue from a different local HVAC Contractor did during install), and was extremely fair in pricing. Added an additional vent to my family room to help air circulation as well. Very professional company and will be calling Muller Mechanical from now on!"

"These guys are awesome. I was called back within 15 min from posting on homeadvisor that my A/C was pushing out hot air. They were at my house in Lewiston in about an hour. They had it repaired and juiced up with free-on within an hour. I also asked for a quote on a new furnace/ac and was presented with a quote within 2 days, unlike Gilchrest who never got back to me with a quote and a year later when I asked Gilchrest for the quote, I was told that his van was in the shop and he didn't know when he would be able to come by to give me a quote. Never heard from him again. I would recommend Apex to anyone who has HVAC issues, very happy with their service!"

"Great service and a very friendly and helpful staff. They had the new furnace and AC unit installed within a day and a half for much less than other local quotes. Would recommend this company if you're looking to replace your furnace or AC."

"I highly recommend Shane Diffin from Mid Michigan Duct Cleaning. He immediately responded to my request and did the work the next day. He sent a video while he was on the job as I was unable to be home. Easy and reasonable payment available through Venmo."

"I had got a estimate from a local hvac business cause they were in the area and I didn't know that fixed furnaces or center air . The first company came out and tried to sell me everything and anything and had financing .. I almost did it but the 12 thousand plus price tag scared me .I'm glad I didn't cause a guy at work gave me the number to MIKE at MCHVAC and I'm glad I called .Mike came out and gave me a honest professional option of what shape my system was in and option of what I could do . He replaced the central air system with even having to replace the furnace that was only 5 years old I might add .the first guy told me I pretty much had to buy all new cause it would work just replacing the central air .. Thank you Mike and MCHVAC for being honest and doing a awesome job. . MCHVAC SAVED ME OVER $7000 that I didn't need to spend . I give recommend Mike to all my family and friends ."

"first visit identified circuit card not sending start signal to heat pump. card was replaced, but unit still didn't run. turns out it was completely out of Freon, though when pressure tested, it did not exhibit leakage. after recharging the unit it is working well. followup will be to evaluate Freon pressure after several weeks of operation to see if any indication of leakage has occurred. It wasn't obvious that the Freon had leaked out and, when last operated last Fall no indication of problems existed. I have several gas, and smoke sensors through the house, which are regularly checked, and none had alarmed. We'll continue to monitor regularly to assess if the leakage is regular but slow, or if it's a one-time event."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

If you’re looking for a portable, budget-friendly cooling solution that doesn’t require any venting or installation, a ventless AC system is a good option. Similarly, this is a great choice if you’re renting an apartment or home and aren’t allowed to make large, structural changes like installing comprehensive HVAC, or you’re in a shared space and only need to cool your own room.

You should get anywhere from three to five quotes for HVAC replacement to get an idea of the average cost of a new unit. Although this quote-collecting process can be time consuming, it allows you to compare what work is required, what type of unit you should install, and how much you should expect to pay for the service.

Assessing location for airflow, convenience, and minimal noise impact.

If left untreated, a frozen AC unit can lead to costly damage, especially to the compressor and evaporator coils. When ice forms on the evaporator coils, they become brittle and more susceptible to breaking. Plus, a freeze makes your AC system much less efficient, which means it's wasting energy and costing you more in your monthly energy bills.

You should clean your air conditioner at least once per year, but you may need to clean your whole HVAC system (including the air ducts) more often. According to the National Air Duct Cleaners Association, you may need to clean them more frequently depending on factors like whether you smoke, have pets, or have allergies.
