"I booked Jezak through Angi for assembly of two bedside units. Before the appointment, I had sent him the product link and we agreed on a price. He arrived on time, looked at the items and the instructions, then said he didn?t have the necessary tools (a flathead screwdriver, #2 Phillips head screwdriver, and hammer). I told him I had the tools available, but he still left, saying he would return later with his own. After several hours, I reached out to check in ? he said he would be here in about an hour. I called again later, and he told me he would be here in 15?20 minutes. Then, after around 15 minutes, he said he had a flat tire and would call me the next day to schedule a new time. After that, he stopped responding completely. I even had to postpone my appointments that day because he said he would be coming back later, which caused additional inconvenience. I understand that he might have felt the job wasn?t worth the agreed rate, but this in unprofessional."

Mailbox Repair questions, answered by experts

Furniture repair costs around $200 on average, and most project costs fall between $100 and $500. The price you can expect to pay will depend on the type of furniture you’re repairing, the extent of the damage, and the size and age of the piece. Reupholstering and couch frame repair are the most expensive, sometimes costing $1,000, while fixes like repairing a scratch or replacing a spring in a couch or armchair will usually cost under $100. Older furniture requires more care and will typically cost more to repair.

Wood furniture is usually vulnerable to water damage. However, larger furniture tends to have a high chance of being salvaged as long as it hasn’t been standing in water for more than 24 hours. You can restore bedpoles, table and couch legs, and other wood parts that haven’t been fully saturated. Meanwhile, smaller objects like decors or furniture with fabric wrapping may require full replacement.

Yes, you can save moldy wood furniture by removing the mold as soon as you notice it. Mold can penetrate and damage porous wood, though, so waiting to clean it could lead to significant damage. If a large coverage area of mold grows over several months, you may want to ask a professional to try to save the piece. If the damage is bad enough, though, even a pro might not be able to save it.

High humidity and moisture are the main causes of wood furniture damage, which cause it to warp or crack. You’ll always want to quickly clean and dry any spilled liquids on wood. Make sure you’re storing your furniture in dry places unless it’s been weather treated—that means your outdoor patio may not be the best spot for your antique side table.

Repairing furniture is cost-effective, and it's a great way to preserve sentimental pieces, while also reducing environmental impact.
