"We hired BMK Asphalt Repair and Paving LLC to repair and sealcoat our church parking lot. They did a great job in all aspects of the work, from providing a quote, scheduling, and completing the work. We are very satisfied with their work, and would hire them again for any future job."

"I highly recommend Domenico for any patio/brick paving work. Dave went above and beyond to explain my design options and coordinate new pavers with my existing ones. The respect he demonstrates for his crew, is greatly appreciated as a customer and is apparent in the quality of their teamwork. The crew, led by Jose, were fabulous. Everyone arrived on time and worked diligently to complete my project by the end of the day. Their expertise and input made my patio turn out even lovelier than I’d imagined! Domenico is a class A company and I feel so fortunate to have connected with them through Angi."

"I've been a licensed contractor for over 30 years with a 5-star rating myself, so I rarely take the time to write reviews unless it's flawless work. Height Control gave me a 10-star service from start to finish. Brain was as professional as they come. Without blinking an eye with the add on that I requested thru out my project; he never gave an unreasonable price for any of the work but most importantly didn't overextend the timeframe. His crew came out and did a exceptional job in a timely fashion. We ordered a massive natural 6ft stone step for our front porch which three other companies estimated that it couldn't be done due to the concrete foundation having the potential to crack. His crew came out and laid it without any incident. I highly recommend Height Control for ALL your landscaping needs. I promise you they will not disappoint!! Gravel is the cheapest way to extend a driveway. Gravel is an affordable, practical option that’s easy to install and perfect for DIY projects, helping you save on labor costs. It can be quickly spread and leveled to create extra driveway space without heavy preparation. While gravel doesn’t offer the same durability or finished look as concrete or asphalt, its low cost makes it ideal for budget-conscious homeowners who want a functional solution without overspending.

If you wish to break up a cracked or broken paver for removal, you can use a hammer or mallet and a chisel to fragment the paver. As you’re working, be careful not to disturb surrounding pavers; the key is to work slowly and steadily and remove the broken pieces gently. You should also wear a mask and goggles to ensure that no dust gets into your eyes, nose, or mouth as you work.

The ideal distance between stepping stones depends on your design preference. A general rule is to place them about 24 inches apart from center to center to match an average person's stride. Another common approach is to leave about 6 inches of space between the edges of each stone; this can be adjusted to fit the path's total length without cutting pavers. If you plan to plant between the stones, leave at least 6 to 8 inches of space to give the plants room to grow.

Paving is a part of hardscaping, so all paving is hardscaping, but not all hardscaping is paving. Paving involves laying down concrete or asphalt, while hardscaping can also include the use of paving stones, bricks, gravel, wood, and more. Hardscape features that involve paving are considered permanent and will increase your property taxes, while some other hardscaping features—like those involving bricks, gravel, and paving stones—will not affect property taxes. Paving also typically requires a permit, while hardscaping features considered temporary will not.

Yes, you should lightly wet the sand with a hose before laying the pavers on top. This activates the bonding agents in the sand, ensuring that your pavers don’t shift around during the installation process. However, you should make sure that the sand is not soaked; overwatering can cause the sand and pavers to not set properly.
