"I wanted to reduce the solar effects of the southern and western exposure windows in my new house not only because of the heat in the summer, but also because of the harmful UV light and the fading it would cause to my new furniture. Double-hung windows also offer better ventilation, making them a good option for bathrooms and kitchens. Single-hung windows have better energy efficiency than double-hung windows because they have only one moving part.
