Customers say: Quick response

"Steamex-Eastern was recommended to me by Carpets by Otto. Blake came the same day I called, but after looking at the stains, he was up front and said that he could try, but was 99.9% sure that he would be unable to remove them. (I had been giving my dog turmeric chews for her arthritis and unfortunately, it caused permanent discoloration of the carpet fibers.) I trusted his judgement and chose not to have him bother trying. Although we are still left with the stains, I was very impressed with Blake's promptness and HONESTY!!! I expected to pay a fee for his time, but he didn't even charge me to look at the carpet. I asked for a few of his business cards and have already given one to a friend who needs carpet cleaning."

"JP came out on time and fully prepared to assess the situation, make measurements and provide an estimate quickly. He was very professional and helped me explore my options. It was a no pressure experience. I needed my wife to weigh in on color so JP came back to our house in the evening to complete the process. Outstanding experience!"

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

Carpet installers use furniture sliders or blankets to protect your furniture during the installation process. They handle each piece with care to minimize the risk of damage. Additionally, they may employ techniques such as lifting and shifting furniture rather than dragging it across the floor to prevent scratches or other marks. If you have particularly delicate or heavy items that need to be moved, discuss special handling with the installers beforehand.

If you don’t put padding under your carpet, the carpet won’t be protected from wear on the underside. This could result in a shorter life span for your carpet and increased carpet repair costs over time. An unpadded carpet can also be less comfortable to walk on, depending on your subfloor and the type of carpet.

The complexity of installation depends on the type of flooring you choose and the level of expertise required to install it. While some materials, like vinyl or laminate, offer relatively straightforward installation processes suitable for DIY enthusiasts, others, such as natural stone or hardwood, often require professional assistance from a flooring company to ensure proper fitting and longevity.

It's best to wait until the newly installed carpet has fully settled and dried before moving furniture back into the room. Your carpet installation professionals can provide guidance on the recommended wait time based on factors such as the type of carpet and adhesive used. Moving furniture back in too soon could damage the carpet or affect its adherence to the floor.

While it's possible to cover asbestos tile with carpet, it's not recommended. Encapsulating tile beneath carpet doesn't eliminate the health risks. Over time, the asbestos tiles could degrade, releasing fibers into the air and potentially contaminating the carpet. Disturbance during carpet installation or removal might also release fibers.
