"If you’re looking for a pro to help you with mold issues, I can’t recommend SGS enough. When I discovered the toxic effects mold was having on my health, I couldn’t believe it. I researched and did my homework to understand mold and how to effectively remediate. I was shocked to find that I knew more than most “mold restoration” companies out there and how unregulated it is in Michigan. I sought out true professionals and that’s how I found SGS. They know their stuff, go above and beyond, communicate effectively and efficiently, take the necessary steps, and have helped us through home inspections and remediation support. I wouldn’t trust anyone else. SGS services were higher in cost but that’s because they actually do what is needed to remediate the problem and not make the problem worse like many companies do (which end up costing more in the long run and have health consequences). I’m so grateful that SGS does what they do!"

Small jobs welcome

"I had asbestos tile removed from some areas in my basement. The team at EnviroGo did a great job!! They removed all of the tile, encapsulated the mastic wherever the tile was present on the basement floor, and removed all of the debris from the house. When I got home to talk to the person in charge of the job for the walk through, everything was cleaned up and pretty much ready to go. Just a very professional job from the crew that did the tile removal to the people I talked to at EnviroGo. If you have asbestos tile to remove anywhere in your home, this is the company to do the work."

There were no hidden cost and the results are bona-fide. We now know what type of dangerous mold we were exposed to in this apartment building and can take the necessary steps for our health."

Biohazard Remediation questions, answered by experts

It’s possible that installing solar panels can lead to mold on the roof. The panels themselves are not the issue. Problems caused by improper installation—such as roof leaks and mounts that aren’t sealed properly—can cause mold. Another potential cause of mold is debris accumulation under panels, which can trap moisture. If you live somewhere with extreme snow, rain, or hail, your home could be more prone to mold.

Window sill mold can be harmful, but the severity depends on the type. Common household molds like Cladosporium or Aspergillus can trigger allergies, respiratory issues, or worsen asthma symptoms. However, black mold (Stachybotrys) can produce mycotoxins that can harm your health. Even less toxic molds should be addressed promptly to prevent health risks and property damage.

Plumbing leaks, roof failures, poor drainage systems, and severe weather events that lead to flooding or inundation are common causes of water accumulation.

Usually several days, depending on the extent of contamination.

Usually, when you have mold, you will notice that your indoor air quality isn’t what it should be. You might notice dank odors, for instance, coming from your carpet, and it may feel damp or spongy. Or you may find that your family members are showing more allergy symptoms than usual, from coughing and sneezing to itchy, watery eyes.

And, of course, if you’ve recently experienced flooding or you live in a particularly humid environment, that’s a good sign you’re at risk for mold growth.
