"Joseph Schei of Advanced Flooring Design gave us a very fair price for the installation of oak hardwood flooring in our home. He also installed vinyl plank flooring in our kitchen and bathroom. All floors were done at the same time and it took him approximately 12 days which included removal of old floors, moving of all furniture and appliances, and installation of new floors. Joseph is very knowledgeable and professional and we were very thankful for all the great advice he gave us along the way. This was a big job, and he made it happen! We love our new floors and we know we will love having them for many, many years to come. Thank you, Joseph, for all of your hard work, integrity, and all around great character! To clean a subfloor after removing carpet, start by removing any leftover debris, such as stuck-on underlay, nails, or staples. Next, thoroughly vacuum the subfloor to eliminate dust, dirt, and loose particles. If adhesive residue remains, you can use an adhesive remover, a scraper, or a sander to gently lift it off. Finally, clean the surface by mopping or wiping it down with a damp rag and allow it to dry completely. This preparation is essential for ensuring new flooring adheres properly and to prevent bumps or wrinkles from forming.

Honestly, very few things in life are 100% anything—and that rule stands when it comes to waterproof flooring, too. Options like porcelain or ceramic tile are a lot closer to 100% waterproof than tiles and planks that have a fiberboard backing, like waterproof laminate or cork flooring. In all cases, it’s a good idea to wipe up wet spills as quickly as you can after they happen in order to avoid water damage.

If you have a concrete subfloor, you must secure the carpet padding with adhesive or glue. However, if you have a wooden subfloor, use staples instead. Removing a glued-down carpet can be difficult and time-consuming, so it’s best to avoid glue when possible.
