"Fantastic! Walter (owner) is very professional and skilled in his trade.  He showed up as promised and put in a hard days work everyday. His crew was also great! The concrete patio, shed pad and sidewalks look great, actually turned out better than I could have imagined. I would hire Walter again and again.  This actually isn't my first experience working with WC Masonry. I originally hired them to cut out and replace some broken brick on my ranch home. Again their work was exceptional."

Gate for Driveway or Security - Install or Replace

Serving Flushing, MI and surrounding areas

Hello, my name is Tyler. I am a fencing contractor with over 8 years of hands-on experience specializing in residential fence installation and replacement. My work includes wood fencing, vinyl fencing and chain link, post setting, gate installation, and complete tear-outs and rebuilds.\n\nOver the years, I’ve developed a strong focus on precision, durability, and clean workmanship. That means properly set posts, accurate spacing, solid structural support, and a finished product that not only looks professional but is built to withstand long-term exposure to weather and ground movement.\n\nI operate with a small, skilled crew, allowing us to maintain efficiency while still prioritizing quality control on every job. I believe in clear communication from start to finish, including transparent pricing, realistic timelines, and straightforward expectations so clients always know exactly what to expect.\n\nEvery project is approached with the same level of care!!

Gate Repair questions, answered by experts

Even if you have extensive experience working with electronics or gates, we recommend leaving this repair to a local gate repair professional. Small tasks, such as battery replacement or debris removal, can be DIY projects, but more involved repairs require a pro’s skills and knowledge. Whenever wiring is involved, it’s easy to cause serious damage to your gate’s system, which can lead to bigger, more costly problems.

The most common cause of gate sensors not working is damaged wiring. Only a professional should diagnose this because it requires working with the system's electronics. There are safety concerns, but more than that, you don't want to accidentally short out your system or cause any electrical damage. Insects, rodents, and fallen branches are common reasons your wiring could become damaged.

Gates are often stuck halfway due to physical blockages or damage to the rollers, wheels, or tracks the gate runs on. Check to make sure there are no obstructions before considering that the motor might be burned out or malfunctioning somehow. Hopefully, the issue is simple, and you can remove it with a broom or your hands, but if your gate is stuck and there's no obvious reason why, you should call a pro to diagnose the issue.

Driveway gates can last anywhere from 10 to 30 years, depending on how well you maintain your gate, the material type, how frequently you use it, and whether you choose an automatic or manual gate. Automatic gates generally require more maintenance than manual gates due to their added sliding gate mechanisms, which can go out from frequent use.

While entryways are seldom added to a house to increase the sale price, they are commonly constructed to increase the livability and enjoyment of a home. So, while they aren’t necessary, they do make for a more comfortable and luxurious-feeling home. Entryways are most valuable in areas of extreme heat, cold, or rain, as the space between the living area and the outdoors helps keep the outdoors outside. Plus, snow, wet boots, and mud are all corralled into one space that’s easy to clean.
