"I could not be more disappointed by the work and business ethics of this company. I had hired them for a major remodeling project, in excess of $75,000. We were in the middle of the project when the flood hit, and so the project was stopped and the work was to be submitted to my claims adjuster for the flood who was in the process of reviewing my claim. A note was put on my door from the City of Midland Building inspector, which said that any substantial repairs from the flood should not be made until more information was gathered from the homeowner to ensure that the homeowner followed the City of Midland and Fema requirements for flood repairs. Tri City took the note off the door and never told me about it. When I confronted the owner about it a week later since the note was never mentioned to me nor did they reference the new flood related requirement, had I not found about this from my neighbor work would have been continued by Tri City which would have been in violation of this order. I have told many people about this, and unfortunately a number of them told me that when I told them I had hired Tri City they didn't want to say anything to me about their reputation since I had already hired them."

"Called to determine and fix a leak in the roof. They came out and saw discoloring on the wood in attic. Instead of fixing the leak they wanted to sell me a $17,000 new roof. (I’ve had estimates by other reputable companies and all of them have been below $13,000). It ends up the leak was caused by a vent pipe that was easily replaced. Ends up I was charged $75 forI them to come out and give them the opportunity to sell me a roof and not fix the problem I called about. Once I had the leak identified and repaired, I called their service manager to request my $75 refunded. After going around and around with me, he said he would talk to the service technician and called me back. It’s been a month and I’ve received no call. I’ve never left or posted a complaint or bad review in my life. If $75 is so important to CL Ward then so be it."

The cheapest and most inexpensive way to side a house is to use vinyl. Vinyl is very low-cost but may not last as long as natural materials or metal. On it own, aluminum siding has a relatively low insulation value (also called R-value); aluminum siding has an R-value of 0.61. However, you can purchase insulated aluminum siding to increase the R-value to between 2 and 5. You can also install additional insulation within your walls to help maintain temperatures within your home. On average, insulation costs $1,825 to install throughout the typical home.

Clapboard siding is traditionally made of wood, and is one of the most common types of wood siding in North America. When people talk about wood siding, they are usually talking about clapboard siding. However, not all wood siding is in the clapboard style: It can be tongue-and-groove, shake, and other designs. Also, clapboard siding can sometimes be made of different materials, like vinyl or fiber cement, so the terms are not interchangeable.

To calculate how much siding you need for exterior walls, first measure the height and width of the rectangular walls. For the triangular gable walls, measure the width and then the height from the ground to the tallest gable point.

  • For the rectangular walls, the calculation is: length x height

  • For the triangular gable walls, the calculation is: (length x height) / 2

Once you add these up, include an additional 10% to account for any wastage.

Wood siding requires that air can circulate behind it and that water can drain away if necessary. Your home needs a water-restrictive barrier underneath furring strips to achieve the air and water gap.
