"They did a very good job removing and trimming up my trees. They cleaned up after themselves and kept me informed on what was happening throughout the process. It took longer than expected since one of the trees was found to be damaged and required additional equipment. They made sure they finished as quickly as possible without causing any inconvenience to me."

"I had a huge tree fall in my front yard, and Belle Boy Snow Plowing Service came through for me! They gave me an amazing price—literally almost half of what other companies were charging—and still did an incredible job. They cleaned everything up so well, no stubs or mess left behind, and got it done quickly. On top of that, they were very professional and really knew what they were doing. I would definitely recommend them and will be using them again if I ever need to!"

"Contractors were on time, professional and very friendly. I live in Mississippi and my mom live in Michigan, so I was trying to find a trustworthy contractor to do the work. Not only did they complete the work they came back to ensure it was clean."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

A few signs a tree may be dead is if the leaves are dead and there are no signs of new blooms. You can also perform a scratch test on some of the branches to check the condition of the cambium layer beneath the bark.

If it is green, it is still alive, but if several are dry, brittle, and brown, the tree may be dying or dead. Always consult an arborist before assuming your tree is dead because you may be able to save it.

Yes, pruning makes trees stronger because it fosters proper growth, weight distribution, and balance of the crown. By increasing the structural integrity of the tree through pruning, it’s less likely to experience disease, pests, broken limbs, and storm damage. Pruning the right branches and limbs is key to improving a tree’s strength and balance.

Most jobs take 2-8 hours, but extensive trimming may take multiple days.

The best plan of action for an unhealthy or unsafe tree will depend on its condition. An arborist can recommend whether trimming or removal is the right call for your tree. Preventive tree trimming can keep trees safe and healthy, so make regular tree trimming a part of your yard maintenance plan.

You need to remove all branches affected by Dutch elm disease. If your tree has several affected branches, you will probably need to remove the entire tree. First, consult a pro to be sure that you’ve correctly identified it as an elm tree. Make sure the tree is properly disposed of with a plastic covering or through debarking, chipping, or burning.
