"I am a single woman. I don't always feel comfortable dealing with home repair. Mark made me feel right at home and was very honest and up front about the whole procedure. The woodburning insert has been a real asset to my home already and wood recommend Mark's Fireplaces to anyone and will."

"I was impressed with Chuck from Shamrock Chimney. He was realistic in his discussion and went thru various options from converting to a gas fireplace to wood inserts. He discussed the issues with the existing field stone face and converting to a two way fireplace. He certainly made me comfortable to consider Shamrock should the project move forward."

"Mike and his crew redid both of our bathrooms with heated floors and all the works.  The project was a little bit challenging in that we did one wall with pebbles which was very labor intensive.  Still, they did a great job.  My wife now says we have a better bathroom than the spas / hotels.

"We hired Lions Den Logistics to delivery a bulk item ( hot tub). Our delivery driver Andrew was professional and friendly. That led us to hire him do to the electrical for the tub and we have been enjoying it ever since! Since then, we have hired Andrew to do several other projects around the house. His prices are excellent in comparison to others and I didn't have to pay for a quote which is super nice. We will be keeping his number on hand as our go to handyman as he can do a variety of handy tasks. Highly recommend!"

Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

Appliances typically connected to a gas line include gas stoves, water heaters, furnaces, and gas fireplaces. Essentially, any appliance in your home that uses gas needs to be connected to a gas line, which connects your home with the main gas line owned and operated by your gas company.

You can maneuver your gas grill into place, but you cannot connect the grill to your gas source yourself. All municipalities mandate that a certified plumber carry out this work, so you’ll have to reach out to a plumber or a gas grill installation company in your area. Given how dangerous a gas leak can be, gas lines and connections are highly regulated, so you’ll need a professional’s help and a permit to install a gas grill.

A few potential problems can cause your gas grill to stop working:

  • Burners aren’t properly aligned.

  • Food debris is clogging the burners.

  • Hose connections may be blocked.

  • Burners may not be getting enough gas.

  • Gas valve is not working properly.

If you’re experiencing any of those problems with your gas grill, hire a local grill repair professional to inspect your grill for issues and implement a plan to resolve them.

On average, a gas grill can last from five to 15 years. The exact lifespan depends on several factors, including the brand and quality of the grill, frequency of use, and whether the gas line is buried or above ground. With proper maintenance and care, such as regular deep cleanings to remove food, grease, and carbon deposits, a grill's life can be extended. Protecting the grill from the elements with a cover can also prevent rust and reduce the need for repairs. Most grill manufacturers also offer extended warranties, which vary in coverage and terms.

The cost of a gas grill burner ranges from $10 to $100 or more, depending on the brand. If you’re replacing one burner, consider replacing all the burners simultaneously. Although it will cost more upfront, it will save you the hassle of replacing a burner every few months, and your grill will cook more evenly and efficiently.
