If you're cleaning out your garage, taking everything out first and starting with a clean slate can help. Garage door freezing is prompted by snowfall and freeze/thaw cycles instead of the temperature. You have a few options of paint for garage doors. Acrylic paint offers excellent UV- and weatherproof resistance, easily adheres to surfaces, and dries quickly. However, it has limited color options available and requires multiple coats. Oil-based paints last long, are easy to apply, and may only need one coat, but dry slowly and emit more VOCs. Latex offers superior color reflection, available in a wide range of colors, and it’s highly forgiving. However, latex can crack and peel over time and may need a primer for even coverage.

Single and double garage doors have pros and cons, but it's all based on personal preference regarding which one is better for you. Two single garage doors give you more control over airflow entering your garage but double the system, which means double the upkeep cost. 

On the other hand, two-car double garage doors are more convenient but can stop you from leaving if a piece of hardware malfunctions.

Garage door sensors should be installed on each side of the door, typically six inches off of the ground. The sensors communicate through an infrared beam, so they need to face each other directly for the system to work properly. Make sure they’re level and aligned, and keep the area around them clear. If they’re too high or out of alignment, your garage door won’t function properly.
