"Knowledgeable, hardworking, friendly and professional folks. They did a terrific job with our added attic insulation and explained each step. Also answered all my questions and sent photos of the work. Cleaned up afterwards too."

"I hired Zebra Insulation to add 12 inches of insulation to our attic. The crew was very respectful, they showed up on time and cleaned up their mess when they were done. The whole process was seamless. I was glad that they took the time to explain why i was experiencing areas of inconsistent temperature through-out my home. They provided the best solution to fix the temperature issues I was experiencing. I highly recommend Zebra Insulation."

"I called Austin Insulation after checking with a few other local competitors. I figured since my name is Austin, these guys HAVE to be the best around. Rob was able to get the job done today within days of my initial call which was HUGE because everyone else was weeks to months out. I think people are passing Austin Insulation because of the small amount of Google reviews; don't make that mistake. They had the best price and fantastic service, please give them your business"

"From start to finish Alex and his team were courteous and timely. The removal of the attic fan and laundry chute was done neatly without causing damage to the drywall and plaster. After the team boarded those areas up the insulation was blown in. The insulation has decreased our energy bills and increased the comfort of our home. I would highly recommend Alex and his team!"

"Could not ask for a better experience with a home project. The two young men sent to do the work were most courteous, on-time, professional and thorough in their work keeping us informed of each action and approx. timeline. These young men, and the services performed, truly reflect the service commitment of the owners to their customers like us! We are most pleased with the work and look forward to further benefitting from the work with our insulation needs. Would rehire, if needed. "I bought a home in Madison Heights in 2012. It was built in 1959. I didnâ t know until recently why it was cold in certain area of my house. I was referred by a friend/contractor to Tom with Dana Insulation. Tom came out on time and was very professional and knowledgeable. He said there are a few places where heat is lost. The attic, basement (where the top wall meets the house called the shoulder. Tom went up in my attic and said there was decent insulation but it should have more. While he was there he recommended a few roof vents due to air circulation problems. (I had no soffit vents). He then noticed my bathroom exhaust fan only vented into the attic but not out of the house. He said moisture will be an issue. He also told me what I already knew which was these older homes have â Zeroâ absolutely â Noâ insulation inside any of my (4)outside walls. I was emailed my quote in a very timely manner and the price was reasonable. They also told me I could get special financing via â Michigan Saves.â I got my financing approved and it was very easy. Long story (sorry) is the crew came out as well as Steve. Steve who was in charge is a very humble, knowledgeable, personable and amazingly honest human. The crew did a job on my house that turned not only amazed my girlfriend and I but exceeded my expectations. My cold back bedroom rooms are no longer cold after filling the gaps with blown in insulation. The temperature is steady and even. Itâ s amazing how much of a difference insulation literally (on every level) of my house made. Itâ s a smaller home but I love it and plan on staying here forever. When the job was done, Steve came out so I could sign off. He said â Now you can have your home back.â That stuck with me because he really cared and treated this home like it was his own. As soon as Steve left I contacted Sam who is the owner. I let him know how happy I was. Sam was so personable that we talked for awhile as well. I will absolutely recommend Dana Insulation to anyone and everyone. I knew it would help but had no clue I would notice this much of a difference."

"We did a lot of research before deciding on King-Bur Insulation to add 20 inches of blown-in cellulose insulation to our house and garage attic. Bruce and his crew were very thorough and professional as well as easy to work with. We are very happy with the services and Bruce even helped us apply for energy saving rebates from Consumers Power for the added insulation. We highly recommend Bruce and the King-Bur insulation team."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

Plastering lasts for around 15 to 20 years without needing repairs or maintenance in most cases, and with proper upkeep, plastering can last a lifetime—sometimes more than 100 years. Plaster repair costs between $1 and $3 per square foot, and you may need these services once every 15 to 20 years or so unless you have a harsh climate where humidity changes are a constant issue. You can also opt to skim-coat plaster for between $0.90 and $1.30 per square foot, which may serve you better in the long run.

Regular inspections, repainting, and avoiding moisture exposure help maintain integrity.

Drywall texture refers to the techniques used on the surface of drywall to create a pleasing visual or tactile effect. Depending on your desired outcome, drywall texture can range from incredibly subtle to a focal point of a room. Textures play a significant role in interior design and are an excellent and relatively cost-effective way to change the feeling of a room.

On average, drywall installation costs around $2,000, with a typical range of $400 to $6,000, including materials and labor. The final price depends on several factors. The most significant is the size of the area, as many contractors charge per square foot. Other cost factors include the complexity of the job (e.g., cutting around multiple windows and doors, corners, or curved walls), accessibility, location, the thickness of the drywall, the height of the room, and the desired level of finish. The level of finish can range from simply hanging the drywall to taping and mudding the seams and painting the walls.

While you can put new drywall over old drywall, it’s not always the best option. In some cases, drywalling over drywall can make it harder to find wires and pipes behind your walls and conceal more serious problems with your walls. It can also make the room smaller. On the plus side, putting drywall over drywall can improve soundproofing and insulation. Plus, it’s often less expensive than tearing down and adding new drywall.
