"This company's rates were competitive, but what really set them apart was the consistent communication with us about the providing the quote, following up on booking date/time for asbestos removal, and doing the work on time. Also they thoroughly answered our many questions and requests for clarifications throughout the process. Getting asbestos removed is no joke and Envirogo was very clear about their safety protocols. Would definitely recommend."

"When I submitted a request for quotes on Home Advisor, Mr. Walker reached out to me within 5 mins to schedule an appointment to assess what was needed. When he came out, he was prompt on arrival, efficient in assessing the work, and gave me an awesome price! He completed the work 2 days after visiting my home, and did a great job. He also completed an air quality test and sent me the results with 48 hours. Do NOT go with another asbestos removal company! Breathe Easier all’s name speaks for itself! Thanks so much Brian!"

"We were connected to Mike through Home Advisor after discovering that the home we plan to purchase had some asbestos wrapping around pipes in the basement. The wrapping was in questionable condition, so we wanted a professional to do an air quality sample before we finalized our offer. Mike was very quick to respond, spent a great deal of time with me on the phone explaining the asbestos testing process, and was available to conduct the test within a tight time frame. Additionally, he went above and beyond by going back to the property the next day to redo a portion of the test after we learned it had not been done the way we had discussed previously. Overall, Mike was extremely professional, communicative, and honest, all qualities you want in someone you're trusting to determine if your home is safe or not. He made a very stressful process much easier."

Asbestos Removal questions, answered by experts

If you think you’ve touched asbestos, do not put on a mask. This is important because you may take the asbestos fibers on your hands on trap them in the mask. Make your way to a sink and wash your hands thoroughly. Remove any clothes and seal them in a bag, then take a shower. Call your doctor and let them know you’ve been exposed to asbestos, and make sure you see them as soon as possible. The reason you keep the clothes is in case anyone wants to confirm the presence of asbestos.

If the tiles are undamaged and in good condition, painting can be a safe method of encapsulating them, but it is important first to evaluate the state of the tiles before proceeding. If the tiles are deteriorating, damaged, or already loose, simply painting over them fails to address the underlying issues that can cause asbestos exposure. It is recommended to consult asbestos abatement experts in such situations to identify the best way to safely manage or remove the asbestos-containing materials. During the painting process, it is crucial to adhere to safety regulations and guidelines to reduce the potential health risks associated with asbestos exposure.

In the 1980s, the use of asbestos in house siding materials underwent a significant decline, ultimately being phased out by the mid-1980s to early 1990s. This change was largely due to a growing awareness of the severe health risks associated with asbestos exposure, particularly its link to lung diseases and cancers. With increased public concern and regulatory agency involvement, building codes and regulations were updated to restrict the use of asbestos in construction materials.

Do not panic if you are exposed to asbestos. The illnesses associated with asbestos exposure are rare. If you are concerned about exposure, talk to your doctor, especially if you are having any respiratory symptoms, such as coughing or difficulty breathing. They may recommend imaging to get a view of the insides of your organs and determine if scarring or growths are present.

No, but it’s common that they do. Gravity furnaces weren’t terribly efficient so wrapping either the ductwork in asbestos, the furnace itself, or both, was something done regularly. This allowed the system to retain more heat. At the time, this greatly enhanced the efficiency of the furnaces but it wasn’t until later that we became aware of just how carcinogenic and dangerous asbestos could be.
