"Prompt response… very professional! I have been without a sink for two weeks, called a few companies and no follow up.. Tejadas was able to fit me in right away.. they were at my home on time and did a great job cutting my granite countertop and positioned my sink to get installed by the plumber… I would definitely hire them again for any future jobs"

Customers say: Quality work

"After and before pictures. I love my kitchen. Austin is easy to work with. I had a budget and an idea of what I thought I wanted. Austin worked with me on layout, design options, colors, all the choices can be overwhelming. He over saw every detail. I was at the top of my budget but wanted a little bit different quartz counter top. Austin went over options with me. I changed something less important and got my dream counter. I had a new dream kitchen in mind. A&M took me through the whole process and made it a reality! I got quartz counters, a navy blue island, the rest of the cabinets white, new kitchen window, new full glass door to our sunroom, new lvp flooring, white subway backsplash, the knobs, the sink, the touch control faucet, the wine holder in the coffee bar area! Every detail I wanted, it’s beautiful! I would definitely recommend them. Friendly, easy to work with and fair pricing. We are extremely pleased with our kitchen."

"We have had considerable work done on our home over the past year and our experience with Dennis and Mark was by far the very best. They arrived on time, both have a wonderful work ethic and attention to detail. The tile work done by Dave is perfect. The pricing was very fair for the job which included totally gutting and replacing the flooring, tile, removing a fiberglass shower and replacing with a beautiful tiled shower, installing new vanity, toilet, etc. We also had exterior window sill and trim work done. My only regret is that we didn't have A & D do all the renovations in our home. I would highly recommend and would look no further should we do any more home projects."

Small jobs welcome

"Aron did a great job trimming our granite countertop to fit in a new stove. He did this and cleaned/ sealed our entire countertop within a 4 hr timeframe and cleaned the worksite well at the end. This was done at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing granite work done professionally at a reasonable price."

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

Yes, epoxy countertops can yellow over time, especially when they are exposed to direct sunlight or UV rays for an extended period. Discoloration is also often a part of the natural aging process of epoxy resin. UV-resistant epoxy products and a protective topcoat can help minimize yellowing and maintain the countertop's original appearance for extended periods.

Any surface, including a waterfall countertop, can last decades based on a few things. First is the chosen material. For instance, quartz and granite are more durable and long-lasting than marble or concrete. Proper care also plays a key role. Regular cleaning and sealing, if required, will help any counter resist stains and damage over time.

New countertops can last for anywhere between 15 and 50 years, with the exact lifespan depending on the material:

  • Quartz: 50 to 100 years

  • Marble: 50 to 100 years

  • Granite: 50 to 100 years

  • Laminate: 15 to 20 years

  • Concrete: 20 to 30 years

  • Tile: 40 to 100 years

Keep in mind some materials are more likely to stain and chip than others, which is an important factor to consider when it comes to the longevity of your countertops. Some materials also need special cleaning and maintenance, like tile countertops, which need grout cleaning, and concrete countertops, which need resealing.

You can cut food on tough, scratch-resistant granite countertops. However, these hard surfaces can quickly dull your knife blades, and continual cutting in the same spot can eventually lead to marks forming and compromising the protective sealant. As with any countertop material, it’s always best to use a chopping board.

You can save some money on countertops by going the DIY route, though it can be risky. Laminate is attractive for cost-conscious homeowners, as it can mimic natural materials like granite and wood. It’s also easy to install. Other inexpensive options include ceramic tile, porcelain tile, and butcher block. For serious savings, skip a full replacement and refinish the pre-existing countertop.
