Small jobs welcome

"They were very easy to talk to and addressed all my concerns. We took in other quotes from companies and everyone came in around the same price, but would not either clean up the whole yard of debris, or we had to pay a second party to come in and fill the foundation with sand. Learned Brothers Services, did it all. They torn down the house, removed all the debris, raked the glass and small bits out the yard, and filled in the foundation with sand. I need to mention also, that on my property there were rock walls near the house that needed to be saved. They were able to work around them, and all though some of the walls were brittle, they were able to save them. My house was 3 stories high with in attached barn. All was burned, but a lot was still there. They were able to do all that I listed above in 3 day. It was a joy to work for them, I would recommend them to anyone."

"Prior to starting the job, Dig Safe was notified and scheduled a survey of vital areas on the property.
Day 1 started with the removal of the plastic edging and flag placement for all sprinkler zones.
The next day the garbage was removed from site and there was a wait until Dig Safe survey was completed.
In the weeks to follow, Excavation was conducted in a logical way as to minimize large machinery travel over the lawn.
My immaculate lawn was pretty much destroyed and Rick assured my that it will return to normal.
I want to note that at the end of there work day the work areas were cleaned up and areas that were potentially hazardous were roped off with yellow tape.
The patio was the first to be completed, followed by parts of the house perimeter sailor border then the pool perimeter border.
The front steps were brought in next and they encountered issues with the Granite pieces. Gagne and Sons were quick in the response of getting replacement pieces the next day.
Finally, the asphalt driveway was removed and the excavation had begun.
With the Driveway installation completed, They tied in all the sailor border areas that were not yet completed and focused on lawn repair.
The Lawn repair was also coordinated with irrigation relocation and repair. This was a little frustrating due to the scheduling difficulties. I have to say the Ronnie of Casco Bay Irrigation worked several weekend days to get things ready between different stages of the project.
I am quite pleased with the outcome and would highly recommend Organics Lawn And Landscape to anyone.

Weed Services questions, answered by experts

Pulling weeds once per month is typically often enough to keep most weeds at bay. But in general, it's best to pull weeds as soon as you spot them to prevent deep root growth and slow their spread. To make it easier, plan your weed pulling after rain or after the sprinklers run so the soil will be nice and wet and the weeds will be easier to pull. If you notice moss accompanying weeds, make a plan to remove the moss immediately to prevent damage.

If possible, you should prioritize pulling weeds up by hand. However, be sure not to use your bare hands, as many weeds are sharp or otherwise irritating when they come in contact with skin. Always don thick, protective gardening gloves to protect your hands when you pull up weeds.

Ultimately, pulling weeds vs. spraying them depends on what’s happening in your yard and your personal preferences. Manual weed removal doesn’t introduce any chemicals into your landscape, targets specific problematic plants, produces immediate results, can be free if you go the DIY route, and is inexpensive with a weed service if you only have a handful of weeds. On the other hand, spraying is often preferable for severe weed infestations and situations involving difficult-to-pull weeds because it treats multiple weeds at once, is usually more effective long-term, is less time-consuming, and costs less when done by a pro.

The best time to hire a weed service company is in the early spring. This allows them to apply a pre-emergent weed killer that stops weeds from taking root, making maintenance for the rest of the season much easier. Following the initial spring application, a monthly service through the summer and early fall is a good idea for ongoing weed control. These regular treatments, combined with manual removal or spot treatment, should be sufficient to maintain a weed-free yard. Alternatively, you can hire a professional in the fall for the following year, as some companies may offer better rates on contracts signed before the busy spring season.

It’s not legal to intentionally damage a neighbor’s tree. Even if the roots of a tree encroach into your yard, if you damage or kill a tree that belongs to your neighbor, you can be held liable for the damage in most cases. Since herbicides can spread through the tree, causing damage to the whole tree and not just the roots that are on your side of the property line, you shouldn’t poison your neighbor’s tree. The other downside to this method is that if the tree dies, it can fall onto your property and cause more damage, so herbicides are best avoided in this circumstance.
