"I am disappointed with the lack of communication and proof of service performed. The initial visit was documented and appeared on my home cameras. However the 2nd and 3rd month service is questionable since it did not appear on house cameras, no sent receipts, and no communication. I have been trying to get hold on them for the last month and requested them to email me as they did previously. It has been a month and no one has emailed me back, or contacted me with the answers to my questions about when they were at my house. Meanwhile my card has been charged for the last 2 months but there is no proof that they were here to apply the outside mosquito and tick service. As a result of non-communication and not sending me receipts of subsequent chemical services, I suspect this company is doing a bait and switch scheme. Additionally, there is always a discrepancy in scheduling and time for the pest control service. Also there is no uniform schedule for mosquito and tick. They said they applied treatment 2 weeks apart - instead of the 4-6 week frequency typical chemical application."

To beat back bamboo, find an herbicide that’s specifically designed to work against tough grasses.

Scorpions have a hard time climbing smooth, non-porous surfaces like glass, smooth metal, and slick plastic. Their pincers and legs are designed for gripping rough or textured materials, so they struggle to gain traction on slick vertical surfaces. This is why glass containers or traps are often used to safely contain them. Keeping furniture or bed frames away from walls and using smooth materials as a block can help limit their ability to climb into sleeping or resting areas.

When you’re checking for bed bugs in your home, start by searching for the telltale signs rather than the insects themselves, as they tend to stay hidden during the day. Here are the key signs of a bed bug infestation:

  • Rust-colored or reddish stains on mattresses and bed sheets

  • Dark spots on fabric

  • Shed skins

  • Fecal matter (looks like black spots)

As for fleas, you can typically spot them on your pet. If you notice them scratching themselves excessively, look for bites and bugs on their skin and fur.

If you find a tick inside crawling in the house, remember not to just step on it or try to crush it. Ticks have hard bodies and it’s hard to kill them this way. Instead, pick it up with toilet paper and flush it. You can also place it in a sealed bag, or kill it by placing it in alcohol.
