"Guys were professional and knew their stuff. Arrived on time,too. Solved my issue in 15 minutes. 'Was completely unprepared for the over $500 bill! My regular electrician was too busy but this was a fire hazard which demanded immediate attention. Wouldn't book with Baker's company again just because of outrageous price."

"Highly advise not to use them for any installation jobs. Sloppy work, incorrect with regulator placement and double billed after another experienced technician did the job. Even the experienced technician did a half assed job reconnecting an exhaust vent that he decided to remove to run the gas line which did not need to be removed. cannot get ahold of customer service to discuss or dispute the service bill which then has my oil and gas deliveries on hold. I prepaid for the gas delivery while under dispute and am being double billed. I may just find a more reliable local person as this big time company with small time feelis simply not working out."

You can and should vent the gas from your hot water heater to the outside of your home. Traditionally, these gases were vented back to other gas appliances, like stoves or furnaces, but many jurisdictions have outlawed this practice due to the risks it provides.

Propane lines are slightly different than natural gas lines, so clear communication is key to ensure that your project is completed without a hitch. 

It can cost anywhere from $200 to $5,000 to repair a gas line. The cost may vary depending on where the problem is located. For example, if there’s a small gas leak somewhere that’s easy to access, the cost could be on the lower side. Venting a gas water heater out of the roof is preferable in most cases. Heated exhaust gases naturally rise, so a vertical vent pipe is efficient. If you’re trying to vent through a pipe exiting a wall, the angle of the pipe may be more horizontal than vertical, making the venting system less effective. If you go through a wall, you may need to add a fan to ensure a successful expulsion of the gases outdoors.
