"Everything went great! Zach and Rick installed a new "tank tee" - the old one was very corroded - and there's no more drip. They were both just very professional and prompt. To be honest, CZ came by twice without my even speaking to anyone. Chuck's son Rick stopped by Tuesday afternoon to check things out and then he and Zach came by Wednesday morning (Zach texted me about 15 minutes beforehand but I didn't hear the text) to do the job. Zach estimated about an hour but it took about half that. So different than typical experiences with tradespeople when you call them and they don't call back! And their rate was very reasonable - $79/hour plus $115 for parts. I'd gotten quotes from a couple of other plumbers that were just ridiculous! CZ did charge for $32 for gas but I was glad to pay it in light of the other rates I was quoted. They were also referred by my next-door neighbor, who'd used them more than once. I'm attaching a pic of the new plumbing; it does look as though some of the old pipe was left behind, although I think some of the corrosion was brushed off. And I did use the 5 percent off Angie's coupon."

"Overall, it went pretty well. I took a while to decide on which of the colours and edging I wanted; they did a good job of following up and reminding me. Since this work is for a house I'm renting, I wasn't always able to get measurements quickly. There were some quirks. The Big Deal price doesn't include removal and disposal of the old countertop; that was an additional $300. It also doesn't include the re-attachment of the sink as they don't do that work so I needed to get a plumber involved. To be fair, both of these were disclosed in the Big Deal and by them afterwards. Since this is template-based, I went out to the house and met an installer who created the template. He worked quickly but, unfortunately, his English was rather limited and several times during the entire project, he had to call their main office and hand me the phone so I could talk to someone there instead. This slowed down the process and made the interactions feel clumsy. On a positive note, they do care about the work; I had decided on 1/4" bevel edging and the main office called back and said that that edging has a higher risk of chipping and, since this is a rental, I should go with the 3/8" round instead, which I did. Since I was reusing my old sink, they brought the slab in and cut the hole for it on-site but used a vacuum and cleaned up the dust quite well. They also lowered the slide-in sink since the new countertop are thinner than the old one. This was after yet another back-and-forth conversation that resulted in a phone call to the main office so they could tell me they would do the work but wouldn't be liable for any resulting damage; there was none. The result looks good and once I get the sink re-attached, all will be well. There are still a couple of minor issues but it is a worthwhile upgrade."

The lock? I can still open the fence. For handyman services, he does individual jobs quickly and is personable.

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"The window install went very well ( it has been about a month, and no leaks so far). The trimwork didn’t go so great. I called him back out to fix it. He did come out to fix it in a timely manner. Besides the caulking, the trim work was ok after he came back out to fix it. He had caulk on walls , and on the wood way far out from the cracks that he was sealing. I had to take caulk off, and re-caulk. I spent a lot of time to make it look nice. However, he did offer to come out again to fix things if I wanted him to . I just don’t want to keep calling someone out. I also, found that he used paper towels behind the window frames where he should of used something like spray window foam . If I would of known, I would not have left my paper towels in the room where he was working . There was some nails, I did have to countersink. I would say I would hire him to install windows, but not to caulk, and not to install wood trim. He does install windows very well. He is a very nice guy, and he is talented at putting windows in, but just not trimming, or caulking them. Windows install was a good price. The trim work I felt was a little much. If it was a great trim job, he would of been perfect. I would definitely hire him again to install windows, but not for trim work or caulking. Also if you do hire him, make sure you have all the right stuff because he did not bring a lot of his stuff, and he didn’t go to the store to get the right stuff. That is why he was using paper towels, and asking me for spray foam which I didn’t have much of."

"This was one of the best experiences ever with a contractor! This was a difficult project because of all the different parties involved - mold remediation, furnace, disposal of water damaged items, the repairs to the pipes, replacing a water pump, and then the rebuilding of the floor and bathroom damaged in the leak. MMH was great a project management, even when the remediation company started giving me problems and delays, MMH stepped in and took care of it. The quality of the work was outstanding, and when it came to making decisions, MMH guided me through the whole process. I felt confident with the materials chosen - they were a great balance of style, quality, and value! I have a bunch of other small project I have been putting off because of not being able to find someone  trustworthy and dependable, those projects will be going to MMH now!"
